Welcome back to another exciting school year! I hope you all had a restful summer and are ready for the opportunities that lie ahead. Our team has been working hard to prepare for a successful year filled with learning, growth, and community.

You are all an important member of the Tiller TEAM. As we begin the new year, I want to encourage all students to find an organization on campus to connect to, whether it is through athletics, clubs, or other academic programs. Research consistently shows that participation in extracurricular activities, such as athletics and clubs, is positively correlated with improved academic outcomes for high school students.

Tiller parents/guardians - your connection to Tustin High School is extremely important for your child's success in high school. Please reach out to teachers, coaches, counselors, our office or administration staff if you have any questions. We are here to work together to ensure a successful high school experience for your Tiller.

Back to School Night will be held on Tuesday, 8/13 from 5:00-7:00 pm. This is an Open House style Back to School Night where students and parents can locate classrooms, meet teachers, sign up for THS organizations, meet counselors, and visit a variety of community partner tables all BEFORE the first day of school.

Any Tiller who attends with a parent/guardian will be entered into an opportunity drawing to win a pair of Homecoming Tickets!

We will have Tacos El Gordito and the Roman Ice Cream truck available for food purchases beginning at 4:45 pm.

Freshmen students and families, please plan to attend our Camp THS Orientation on Tuesday, 8/13 beginning at 3:00 pm. This orientation is MANDATORY for all Freshmen. Parents/guardians - you are strongly encouraged to attend to help your Tiller start their high school career strong. We will have special sessions for parents, so please mark your calendar. Freshmen will meet in the Sport Pavilion and parents will meet in the Cafeteria.

To help us prepare enough materials and refreshments, please RSVP by CLICKING HERE.

Strong attendance is the foundation to school success, especially during the high school years when curriculum is more challenging and grades impact graduation and college eligibility. Please ensure that your student attends school every day unless they are unable to due to the following legal reasons: illness, medical appointments, funerals for immediate family members, court mandated appointments, religious holidays and observances.

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with THS Attendance Office Procedures to avoid accrual of detention hours for your student.

Due to the high number of students arriving late to school because of stops at Starbucks, 7 Leaves, Jack in the Box, or similar businesses on the way to school, we are implementing a new policy starting Monday, August 19th.

Students who arrive late will no longer be allowed to bring any of the drinks they picked up on the way to school onto campus. They will need to finish their drinks before entering or dispose of them in the trash to enter campus.

Please inform your students that if they wish to visit a Starbucks or similar business before school, they must arrive on time. Only students who are on time will be allowed to bring their drinks onto campus.

ON TIME means arriving to school with enough time to arrive the the CLASSROOM before the tardy bell rings at 8:30 AM. Arriving to the front gate by 8:30 AM is not considered on time.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us improve first period attendance and reduce tardies this year.

For the twelfth consecutive year, the Tustin Unified School District is partnering with Tustin Toyota to increase overall student engagement and attendance by highlighting senior role models. All seniors who maintain daily engagement, outstanding attendance when healthy, and positive behavior at each of TUSD’s high schools will be eligible for entrance in a lottery for a new Toyota Corolla generously donated by Tustin Toyota. Last year's winner was a Tustin Tiller!

All TUSD seniors are eligible if they are at school when they are healthy and participating in class daily throughout their senior year specifically from September 16, 2024, through April 11, 2025.. Please see fliers below for additional details.

The Tustin Unified School District (TUSD) is partnering with Data Impressions & Microsoft to give away one computer at the end of the 24-25 school year to a student at every school in TUSD!

All students who maintain daily engagement at TUSD’s schools will have a chance to win! To be eligible for an entry in the lottery, a student must engage in instruction with their teachers and attend school on each school day they are healthy throughout the year: September 16, 2024, through April 11, 2025. See fliers below for additional Program Details/Rules/Eligibility.

Please be aware that during the first week of school, drop off and pick up traffic are typically impacted more than usual. Please plan ahead to provide yourself with extra time to avoid stress and tardies. Also, please be considerate and leave the parking spaces marked "SRO" and "Nurse" available for them.

There's still time to join our incredible Dance Team this year! No prior experience is necessary.

The Library will be open until 6 pm during Freshmen Orientation and Back to School Night on August 13. Students have not yet been issued their device or received their school ID can stop by for assistance. Data confirmation MUST be completed by parent or guardian before a laptop can be issued.

Join PTO today for a chance to win awesome prizes! If you contribute $25 or more for your PTO membership, your student will have a chance to win one of the following. There will be one winner per prize.

• $100 towards transportation fee for athletes

All proceeds from PTO memberships and fundraisers go directly back to supporting Tustin HS students and staff!

The Tiller Community Center will be open during Snack and Lunch daily beginning on August 14. We have free resources for students and families including school supplies, backpacks, hygiene products, snacks and pantry items, and clothing. Students are welcome to stop in to pick up what they need or fill out the Resource Request Form.

Mark your calendars for this year's TPSF community events, starting with the Celebration of Schools dinner on September 25 from 5-7:30 at Legacy Magnet Academy. See fliers below to learn more about this and other TPSF events and programs!

We are looking for adult and student volunteers for our monthly food distributions, which are held on the first Tuesdays of each month (September - June). No training or prior experiences is needed.
