Senior Project News
The next Senior Project panel will take place on Thursday of next week (March 27th). Seniors need to share their pre-panel reflection letters with their panel by Tuesday, March 25th.
This is the third of our four panel meetings so seniors should be well on their way to completing many of the required competencies by this time. On Wednesday, April 9th, seniors will have a Senior Project work day that will coincide with juniors taking the SAT's. Seniors who have passed all of their checkpoints should use this day to make progress on their projects; students who have not passed all three checkpoints will be required to
attend school so that they can work on their project with assistance from Souhegan faculty. Seniors will finalize their work day plans with their panels on the 27th.
Presentations will take place on Thursday, May 29, and Friday, May 30. Parents must notify the Senior Project coordinators (rlemieux@sau39.org or kmaddock@sau39.org) about possible scheduling conflicts by completing this form by Friday April 11th.
Get to Know SHS
Meet the wonderful and talented staff members of SHS!
Nicholas Drinkwater
What is your role at Souhegan?
Social Studies Teacher, Community Council Co-Advisor, Granite State Challenge Coach
How long have you been with Souhegan?
Six years!
What do you love about your job?
My favorite part of every day is continue to build relationships with students and colleagues. Getting to know the students both inside and outside of the classroom over the four years they're here and celebrating their successes or ability to overcome adversity will never not be rewarding. Professionally, I love how reflective teaching encourages me to be.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love spending time with good people. To embrace my competitive side, I get super into the NFL and NHL, enjoy going bowling, or getting humbled at trivia nights, or challenging anyone willing to a game of cribbage. Creating and being a part of community is really important to me—whether that’s through reading, traveling, making an effort to give back, or spending time at Sebago Lake in Maine.
If you were given one wish what would it be?
I wish they would cast me on the show Survivor.
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?
"Culture is as much about what we encourage as what we actually permit." - Fredrik Backman; "Make good choices!" - Mom
