The Cougar Connection
Lafayette Elementary April 1st
Dear Lafayette Elementary Community,
We trust this email finds you well-rested and rejuvenated after the spring break. Megan went to Moab, Utah with the whole family. We went hiking, did some aerial yoga, and I got to babysit my nephew- which was a real treat! Robin went to Minnesota for a long weekend to see a PWHL game with her daughter. For the rest of the week, she hosted some friends from Wisconsin.
We had a wonderful week prior to break. Congratulations to all of our first grade docents, our amazing choir performers and our incredible Romeo and Juliet crew. We are so grateful for the hard work of all of the students, teachers and volunteers that helped make these experiences positive and memorable.
As we prepare to resume our academic activities, we are preparing for the annual state testing window starting Monday, April 8th. As we say at Lafayette Elementary, “Show what you know, work hard and you’ll grow!” We are so excited to celebrate our growth once again. Video LINK

A quick reminder about the bus: only students who are registered for transportation are able to ride the bus. Families setting up play dates will need to find alternative transportation.
Good luck to our Destination Imagination teams this weekend at the state competition!
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to provide the best possible educational experience for our students.
Go Cougars!
Sincerely,
Megan Weir, Principal and Robin Stone, Dean of Students

Counselor's Corner
This week some classrooms are learning steps to solve problems. The first step we are learning is to say the problem without blame. Starting with “I want…. or I need….” is a helpful way to say the problem without blame.
Please feel free to reach out with any social-emotional inquiries. andrea.dolan@bvsd.org or 720-561-8983
