Wrapping Up the School Year: Important Events This Week
As we approach the end of another fantastic school year, we want to share a few important updates and reminders for this week. It’s a time of celebration, reflection, and transition for our students, and we look forward to recognizing their hard work and growth.
8th Grade Visit to the High School – Wednesday
On Wednesday, our 8th grade students will take a short walk to the High School for lunch. This visit is designed to help them become familiar with the high school environment and feel more comfortable with the lunch process before they begin their freshman year in the fall. It’s a small step in their journey, but an important one as they prepare for this exciting next chapter.
End-of-Year Awards – Friday
We will hold our annual end-of-year awards ceremonies on Friday. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments and efforts of our students across all grade levels. Parents and guardians are warmly invited to attend the ceremony for their child’s grade. Parents should check into the main office at the Junior High before proceeding to the auditorium. The schedule for the awards is as follows:
-
8th Grade – 8:30 AM
-
7th Grade – 9:30 AM
-
6th Grade – 10:30 AM
We hope you can join us to honor the achievements of our students and share in the pride of all they’ve accomplished this year.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the school year. Let’s finish strong!
Peer Mentors Assist with 5th Grade Tours
👋 Welcoming Our Future 6th Graders!
This past week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our incoming 6th grade students to the Junior High! The current 5th graders walked over from CIS to spend time getting to know their new school environment.
Our amazing 7th grade Peer Mentors stepped up to lead the way—offering tours, sharing helpful advice, and answering questions with kindness and enthusiasm. It was a great day filled with excitement and connection, and we’re so proud of how our students represented our school community.
We also recognize that this transition is a big step not just for students—but for families too. That’s why we’re inviting incoming 6th grade parents to join us for a special Parent Night:
📅 Tuesday, May 27th
🕕 6:00 PM
📍 Junior High Cafeteria
This is a great opportunity to hear from school staff, ask questions, and learn more about what to expect in the year ahead. We know parents often have their own worries during times of transition, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
We look forward to partnering with you and welcoming your student into the next exciting chapter of their educational journey!
Upcoming Exams and Year End Projects
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to remind you about the upcoming scheduled half days (dismissal 11:37am) for final exams and projects scheduled for the week of June 2nd. These assessments and projects are an important part of your student’s academic progress, and your support in preparing them for success is greatly appreciated. Please note that not all classes will require an exam. Teachers will communicate with their students about the expectations for the final week.
Exam Schedule:
-
Tuesday, June 3rd
Students will take exams for their 1st through 3rd hours. -
Wednesday, June 4th
Students will take exams for their 4th through 6th hours.
Please ensure your child gets plenty of rest the night before, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives to school on time. Encourage them to review their materials, stay organized, and reach out to their teachers with any last-minute questions.
Chromebook Collection
On Wednesday, June 4th during our 6th hour exam period we will collect all student Chromebooks. On that day your child must turn in their Chromebook, Case and Charger. Any missing issued items and obvious damage will be noted. Repair charges will be sent out over the summer as our Tech Department cleans and repairs all Chromebooks for redeployment in the fall.
An unforgettable adventure awaits your child in Costa Rica!
Dear families,
We’re thrilled to share that we’re heading to Costa Rica in Spring 2026, and we’d love for your student to join us!
This is an incredible opportunity for students to explore new places, experience different cultures, and gain lifelong skills like independence and confidence. I’ll be sharing all the details, including what we’ll see and do, hands-on learning activities, academic opportunities, trip costs, and how to secure a spot at our informational meeting.
Meeting details:
Date: May 28
Time: 6:00 PM
Location: Room 23
RSVP here to join us: https://rsvp.eftours.com/beesxzy
We’ll also open enrollment during the meeting—spots are limited, and I would love to help you secure this experience for your child.
In the meantime, please visit EF’s website to get answers to common parent questions. EF Tours is our trusted travel partner, and they have 60 years of experience helping students explore the world safely and affordably.
