LCE Trail Guide
September 30th, 2024
Liberty Creek Families,
Happy October! As the leaves begin to change and the air turns crisp, we are excited to share a variety of events and activities lined up for our students this month. We encourage you to read through the entire newsletter so you won’t miss any important details!
A Special Thank You
First and foremost, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to JTO Electric for generously providing our staff with new t-shirts. Your support helps us create a wonderful environment for our students and staff alike!
Valet Line Reminders
As we continue to prioritize the safety of our students, we kindly ask everyone to remain in your vehicles while using the valet line. For safety reasons, please do not exit your car. If your child needs assistance, make sure to use the middle and outside lanes for drop-off in the morning. The lane closest to the curb does not have staff assistance, so it’s important that your child can exit the vehicle independently in that area.
To help streamline the morning drop-off, please have your child ready to go—seatbelt unbuckled, backpack and coat on—before arriving in the valet line. We appreciate your cooperation, especially on Thursdays when both preschool and K-2 students arrive simultaneously. With the cooler weather encouraging more families to use our valet lane, your preparedness makes a big difference! Once again our valet lines open at 8:45 AM.
Lost and Found
As temperatures drop, we remind you to label your child's clothing, as our lost and found continues to grow. Please also label water bottles and lunch boxes to ensure they return home safely.

During our upcoming Learning Improvement Day, our dedicated staff will focus on analyzing our Sense of Belonging data and developing a strategic action plan to meet this important objective. Additionally, we will be working collaboratively in both grade-level and vertical teams to identify our essential writing standards through a structured protocol.
This critical work aligns with our mission at Liberty Creek, and together, we are laying the foundation for our students' success.

All treats MUST be store bought (please check for any allergies in your classroom). We also ask to check with the teacher before you send any treats.
All volunteers must be approved before participating in classroom activities, so please do not wait until the day of the event to seek approval, as we cannot process them quickly enough. Additionally, due to safety and space considerations, we can only accommodate a certain number of volunteers in each classroom at a time. We asl that you reach out to your child's classroom teacher prior to showing up on the day of the party.
Order Now! Liberty Creek Apparel "Team Store" -- Closes Wednesday, October 9th
Our "Team Store" featuring our logo for the 2024-2025 school year is open now for all Explorers, families and the community. It is completely optional, but a fun way to share our school spirit. Click the link to be taken directly to the store or shop by using the link on the flyer or scanning the QR code. The store closes Wednesday, October 9th.
Update: No Parking on Boone
You will notice new signs installed along both sides of Boone Street. In an effort to improve safety and reduce congestion, the city’s public works department has added "No Student Drop-off or Pickup" signs. These changes are designed to ensure a safer environment for students and improve traffic flow during school hours.
Attendance Matters
Attendance matters at every stage of learning, even in the early grades! Regular attendance in PreK through 2nd grade builds the foundation for academic success. These early years are when children develop key literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Consistent participation helps students establish routines, build relationships, and stay engaged in their learning. Every day counts and we cannot replace the authentic learning that happens when students are absent! Let’s work together to ensure our youngest learners are building strong habits for a bright future.
Lunch Payment Progress
To simplify the lunch payment process, we ask that all payments be made online rather than in the school. This method is quicker and more secure, helping us keep transactions efficient, as well as allowing you to pay by credit card and not worry about cash making it to the office. Please visit https://www.cvsd.org/apps/pages/payments to make payments with no service charge. If you need your student’s ID number, please reach out to the office.
Meet the Masters: Art History
Meet The Masters New Volunteer Meeting:
If you’re wanting to get involved with Liberty Creek’s art program, Meet The Masters, please join us for an introductory meeting on Friday, October 4th at 2:30 PM, in the Art & Community Room. We’ll discuss all the ways parents can be involved with each of our school’s fun, artistic endeavors!
Meet The Masters Fall Classes:
We’ll soon begin our fall session of Meet The Masters, an interactive art curriculum where students learn about famous artists of the past, and then create their own artwork based on a distinct style or method. This fall’s featured artist is Paul Klee, remembered for his colorful expressionism. If you’d like to assist your child’s classroom with Meet The Masters lessons (held during school hours) please reach out to libertycreekartists@gmail.com
Art Club:
Our after school Art Club is underway! October’s sessions will be held Wednesday, October 16th and Wednesday October 30th, immediately following end-of-day dismissal.
Keep an eye out for sign-ups, delivered through School Messenger the Thursdays prior.
(Art Club is for 1st and 2nd grade students only.)
PTO Family Fun Events: Save the Dates
Recess Rangers is Back!
Our mission is to foster an inclusive and engaging recess environment where every child feels empowered to play, connect, and thrive. Through our dedicated parent volunteer program, we aim to enrich students' recess experiences by providing fun and interactive games that promote teamwork, physical activity, and social skills development. Together, we strive to create joyful moments and lasting memories, cultivating a sense of community and belonging for all. If you're interested in getting involved, please reach out to Mr. Weller.
Meet Miss Lertora (school counselor)
Birthday Invitations
As we celebrate our students’ birthdays, we want to ensure that every child feels included and valued. To promote a positive and supportive environment, we kindly ask that if you wish to send out birthday invitations, they should be addressed to the entire class. This helps foster inclusivity and prevents any feelings of exclusion among students.
If you choose to invite a small group of close friends, we appreciate it if those invitations are not handed out in school. This will help prevent any hurt feelings or exclusion among the other students. We are unable to pass out invitations for only select students, as it can lead to hurt feelings and is time-consuming for staff.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness in helping us create a sense of belonging for all our students. We truly appreciate your cooperation!

Valet Services
Kindergarten -2nd Grade
Our valet service operates from 8:45 AM to 9 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. However, on Thursdays, it runs from 9:45 AM to 10 AM due to late start. Please note that our valet attendants begin assisting children promptly at 10 AM. Arriving after this time means you will need to park and personally accompany your child into the school, as they will be considered tardy. To ensure a smooth drop-off experience, we recommend arriving at 8:45 AM to avoid any inconvenience.
Preschool
Just a friendly reminder our valet is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:20-8:30 AM (Thursday 9:45-10 AM). If you arrive past this time, we ask that you park in our visitor's parking lot and walk your child to the front office for check in as our K-2 students arrive shortly after.
Fall Assessments (K-2)
Facility Usage
We’re excited to announce the launch of CVSD’s new facility rental website, https://www.cvsd.org/FacilityUse! When our school facilities aren't being used for school activities or closed for maintenance, they’re available for public use. Whether you're hosting an event, practice, or meeting, our community-owned spaces are open to you!
Check out this short tutorial video and explore how you can book a CVSD facility rental today.
If you are looking for outdoor use, please contact the City of Liberty Lake as they manage our play field.
High School Events and Games
We love seeing our supportive community at Ridgeline High School events! However, please remember that students attending these events should be supervised by an adult. Additionally, students should stay in the stands with a parent. The area in front of the concessions/bathrooms in not intended for large groups or throwing of footballs, tag, chasing, or running in that area. Please keep all sports equipment at home. We appreciate your support to ensure everyone enjoys these events/games that make our community so great!
