The Churchill Catch Up
January 25, 2025
Quarter 3: January 27-April 11
Start of Quarter 3
Monday, January 27
Monday begins the second half of the school year. It seems hard to believe that we are 1/2 way through the year!
We are celebrating the four students that have graduated so far this year. The CCHS family are proud of you and can't wait to see you at graduation! Remember you have finished this goal and now it is time to set the next one. We are still here to help and support what those may be. Once part of CCHS, always part of CCHS
We are looking forward to meeting our new students and welcoming back all current students. This is a great time of year to focus back on your goals. If you fell behind, restart strong and let us all support you. If you are happy with where you are, then keep doing all that you can to continue moving forward.
Sometimes the first step is making a change in how you think. It is often easy to focus on difficulties, but taking a moment each day to think of something you are grateful for, happy to have accomplished or acknowledge your strength can make reaching the next step of what you want to accomplish easier.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS!
School Starts at 9AM Everyday
As a reminder CCHS is set up for students to learn and complete work during their class time, eliminating homework as an obstacle to the learning process. The only way this works is if students are here. Please review our attendance policy. If you have individual situations that you need to discuss regarding attendance please reach out.
Attendance Policy
THAN 6 NON DOCUMENTED ABSENCES IN ONE QUARTER MAY RESULT IN A STUDENT BEING PAUSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE QUARTER WHICH WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF CREDIT
The number of minutes for tardies will be tracked by teachers and may count as a day of absence. For every 60 minutes tardy in a class one day of absence will be recorded
Documentation will be required in order for the absence to be considered documented.
Documentation means submitting paperwork to confirm the reason for the absence.
Absence Reasons that May be Documented Include:
Personal/Family Emergencies
Medical Appointments
Religious Holidays
Funerals
Legal Appearances
Absences for unauthorized reasons or ones that are undocumented will be counted towards the 6 limit.
For any school time missed students should plan to stay in the afternoon(s) when you return in order to catch up on the work you missed
Staying in the afternoon for academic probation, assigned by the teacher, may offset absence counts at teachers discretion
If you do not start the quarter on time, it will be an expectation that you stay in the afternoon(s) for the number of days you start late
Any student who enters/leaves the school building without properly signing in/out will not be able to have the absence documented and may be assigned disciplinary consequences.

What is the Difference Between a Service and a Therapy Dog?
Meet Nox
Knox is a new member of the Churchill community. He is a service dog that works with one of our students and attends daily. Knox being a service dog is different than when Charlie, a therapy dog, comes to visit. When Knox is wearing his vest he is working and should not be touched or engaged with. If Knox's owner takes his vest off, he is taking a break and may be touched after asking his owner if it okay to do so.
