Monroe Memo
April, 2024
A Message From Mr. Callen
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Spring Break and were able to spend some meaningful time with family and friends! Now that we are back to school we can start looking ahead to the fourth quarter and the end of the school year. One small change you can expect is that Mr. Callen will now be spending full weeks at Monroe until the end of the year. Mr. Bertsche will spend a few days in the building during April and May, but his new schedule might finally look like the retired life he had originally planned for! We are incredibly grateful for Mr. Bertsche's efforts and commitment to the Monroe Learning Community this year.
Another thing to be on the lookout for is the Wisconsin Forward Assessment for students in grades 3 - 5. Testing will take place the week of April 8. We appreciate you making every effort to have your child at school and in the building on time. Students who are on time, well rested, and have eaten a good breakfast will be ready to tackle this state assessment. We want to see all of our students to do the best they can!
Standard Response Protocol of the Month-"Shelter" -Tornado/Severe Weather Drill
A "Shelter" is called when the need for personal protection is necessary. In the event of a tornado/severe weather watch students will proceed with their class to their designated safe area and assume a protective position until the all clear is given.
A Message From Mrs. Berres
Ask your student which book they voted for each day in our March Madness Picture Book Tournament!
Homeroom classes listen to the 2 books that are battling for that day and then vote on their favorite.
Stay tuned to see which book will make it to the Championship!!
