Principal's Message
Dear Cavalier Families,
This week is National School Counselor's week! Please join me in thanking our counselors, Ms. anagabriela.hollins@sweetwaterschools.org and Ms. alma.sigarroa-sanchez@sweetwaterschools.org for all they do! I'm sure they would be thrilled to receive an appreciation note from you to their email addresses!
Students and Parents, I've been seeing a lot of earbuds and phones out. This is a reminder that NO CELL PHONES or earbuds / headphones should be visible on campus. Phones should be turned off and put in backpacks. Parents, please support us with this. If your students has earbuds, please take them and keep them at home. Students are wearing earbuds connected to their phones and it is a huge distraction. Also, please do not contact your child through the cell phone during the day. Parents can always call the main office to relay a message to your student.
This week's announcements:- English Learners will take the ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessment for California) starting this week. If you are a student who has yet to become classified as English proficient, this exam is a critical part of the components used to assess proficiency. There are four parts: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Remember all that you have learned in classes and apply it to the tests. There are practice tests available that you can do on the iPad at home to familiarize yourself with the different parts of the test. You can sign in as a guest.
- The counseling office will be closed on Monday as the counselors will be attending a district meeting.
- The ASB will be presenting a Great Kindness Challenge this week! Stay tuned for more information from the ASB.
- Did you receive straight A's last December in scholarship and citizenship? Then you and your parents will be invited to be recognized at the Principal's Honor Roll Assembly on Thursday, February 6 at 8:30 am. Students who had Perfect Attendance will also be recognized! Please look for an email from Mr. Clark.
- This Friday, there will be a Pep Rally to introduce the Sweetheart's Court. Wear Red to be able to go! Tardies to class will also be part of the requirements to be eligible to go to the rally. Be responsible and get to class on time every day this week so you can attend!
Continuing announcements:
- All students and parents have the unique opportunity to receive individual and family therapy sessions at no cost through the Center of Mindful Relationships. If any student is interested in this, please fill out this form or scan the QR code on the flyer listed below.
- Parents can register their students for Club TC on the school website or through the QR code below. The Club TC office is in Room 215, close to the white G street gate.
