SEL Goal
Ridgewood School will complete at least 50 paws on our school paw chart by using a level 0 voice in the hallways. When we reach our goal, we will celebrate with a popcorn party!
EMSD Spirit Week
PE Teacher
Mr. Frieden, our former PE teacher is no longer at Ridgewood. We are excited to welcome Ms. Coleman as our new PE teacher at Ridgewood. Ms. Coleman student taught with Mr. VonThun last year at Ridgewood.
Assembly
We had our 1st assembly of the school year. Here is what we did at the assembly:
- Reviewed assembly expectations for the school year
- Be respectful, Be responsible, Be safe
- Celebrated successes this school year
- We met our first SEL goal this school year!
- We have had many Pawsitive Awards given to students this school year!
- 217 Lexia Certificates have been given to students this school year!
- 94, 492 puzzles have been completed by students in ST Math this school year!
- Checked in our progress towards our current SEL goal
- Currently have 14 golden paws
- Our goal is 50
- Let students know about our John Deere Inspire School Partnership & activities that will take place this school year
- K: ABC Corn Activity this Spring
- 1: Planting Activity this Spring
- 2: Field Trip to the John Deere Pavilion this Spring
- 3: Hour of Code, Dance Party Module Activity this Fall
- 4: Hour of Code, Hello World with Emojis Activity this Winter
- Every student received a John Deere water bottle donated by John Deere!
A Note from our School Nurse
Physicals and up to date immunizations are due by October 15th for Kindergarteners and students that are new this school year to the state of Illinois. If you have any questions, please call or email Mrs. Pauwels, the school nurse.

Picture Retakes
If your child missed our previous school picture day or you would like your child's picture retaken, we will have picture retakes on Monday, October 28th.
Report Cards
Reports cards for grades 1-4 will be sent home on Wednesday, October 23rd. You will also receive a copy of your child's STAR report (previously MAP) in their report card. Kindergarten report cards will go home at the end of each semester (twice a year).
