Superintendent's Corner by Dr. Jeff Feucht
I was truly honored to attend last week's senior celebration assemblies at ACHS and LCHS. These assemblies are not just events; they are inspirational celebrations of our seniors' individual journeys and accomplishments. Each student is highlighted in a heartfelt slideshow, that includes an individual slide outlining the plans of every single senior in the class.
Each year as I watch these slides, I find myself deeply moved by the array of paths our students have chosen for after they leave our two high schools. We have seniors at both schools who will be serving our nation in the armed services, directly entering careers, committing to cultural and philanthropic missions, and enrolling at colleges, universities, and trade schools from across the nation. Their choices are as varied as they are commendable! I am eagerly looking forward to witnessing the remarkable journeys of the ACHS and LCHS Class of 2024 unfold.

- Call the attendance line.
- Once attendance has the absence, they will start a pre-arranged absence form .
- The pre-arranged absence form will be delivered to the student.
- The student takes the form to the teacher of the final assessment they will miss and plans a time to take the assessment.
- Once the form is completed, the student takes the form to the Student Services office.
- Student Services will send a copy to the student, teacher and guardians.
Finals Study Night:
Not prepared for finals? No worries! The ILC is working with NHS peer tutors and staff to host a mega-study session with FREE iced coffee, tea, and lemonade! Tutors will be available in ALL SUBJECTS. Register by May 15th for a chance to win a reserved table for you and your friends.

FAFSA Update for the Class of 2024
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024- 2025 academic year is now open. Once the FAFSA is complete it will produce a Student Aid Index (SAI) (formerly Expected Family Contribution (EFC)). The SAI will appear as part of your FAFSA Submission Report (formerly known as Student Aid Report (SAR)).
At this point in time completion of the FAFSA is not producing the FAFSA Submission Report and colleges/universities cannot upload the information. It is estimated that this information will be available to them until “mid-March.” As a result you may find that institutions are pushing back their candidate reply dates from May 1 to May 15 or June 1.
As seniors are completing non-institutional scholarship applications some are requiring their SAI number. If the FAFSA submission report is not available, please feel free to use the following FAFSA Estimator. https://studentaid.gov/aid-estimator/ This tool will produce an estimated SAI that can be used for scholarship applications.
Please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Bargar at nathan.bargar@chsd117.org or 847-395-9388 with any questions that you may have.
Class of 2024 College Transcript Information
Official transcripts are now available for the class of 2024. Seniors can request their transcripts by clicking the following link. A District 117 email is required to complete the form. This form and all other resources needed for completing college applications can be found in the "Classwork" section of the Class of 2024 College and Career Center Google Classroom.
Career Connect

Career Connect visits can be found on Twitter (@LCHSStudentServ), Instagram (lakescollegeandcareercenter), the daily announcements, and the Class of 2024 and 2025 College and Career Center Google Classrooms.
