VVSD Staff Spotlight- Samantha Galindo, Early Childhood Teacher
Sam Galindo is among the many new educators who have joined the VVSD team for the 2024-25 school year. However, Sam is hardly a newcomer to the District. Sam is a member of the Romeoville HS Class of ’18, and in recent years, worked at the Mitchem Early Childhood Center as a paraprofessional.
Sam studied early childhood development at Joliet Junior College and then began working as a parapro. Her co-workers at the Mitchem EC encouraged Sam to earn a teaching degree, which she did by going to night classes at Lewis University while working during the day.
This year, Sam begins her career as a full-time, fully certified classroom teacher.
