Parent Mental Health Series - December 14th
December 14th at 6:00pm is the next Parent Mental Health Night focused on school avoidance. CHILD CARE and PIZZA will be provided free of charge for those in attendance!
Fowlerville Community Schools, in a joint effort with all Livingston County Schools, would like to invite all families to our first monthly mental health series for parents. Each month, every school in Livingston County will host the same parent meeting designed by the Cook Center at 6:30 p.m.
The series will cover several topics that parents and teens are battling. Topics include:
Dec 14 @ 6:00 pm - School avoidance
Jan 11 @ 6:30 pm - Effects of screen time
Feb 8 @ 6:30 pm - Building your child’s confidence
March 14 @ 6:30 pm - Bullying
April 11 @ 6:30 pm - Substance abuse and vaping
In each meeting, parents will learn simple strategies to help you respond to your child when they are facing these challenges or learn more about each one if it is ever needed. The cost is completely free to all families and is a valuable resource.
There are two options for attending the parent meetings. You can attend in person at our High School Media Center or virtually via the links provided in the attachments.
Please contact Amanda Robertson, our mental health specialist, with any questions you may have at robertsona@fowlervilleschools.org. We hope to see you all there!

Senior Exam Policy
As a reminder, the Senior Exam Policy applies to 2nd semester only. All FHS students will be taking end of semester assessments on January 17, 18, and 19.
Exam Policy (Senior’s Only - 2nd Semester)
Each course has an end-of-semester assessment and applies to all level courses. Final semester assessments may take the form of written exams, culminating projects, oral examinations, performance assessments, etc. at the discretion of the teacher. Seniors are excused from an end-of-semester assessment in a course if they have a semester grade of 84% or higher in that course. All end-of-course assessments are to be administered during the last week of class unless extenuating circumstances force the exam(s) to be taken earlier.
2nd Semester Student Schedules
In order to provide optimal learning environments for students, there will be adjustments made to some students schedules for 2nd semester. While this may seem unsettling for some students, rest assured that all classrooms offer high quality educational opportunities. At this time, schedule change requests will not be granted unless there is a hole in a schedule. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

Paying for College Webinars
Did you know that the FAFSA (Financial Aid Application) is NOT just for student loans? All state, federal, and most college scholarships start with you having a completed FAFSA application. This process can be confusing but we are here to help. Financial specialists from Oakland University are hosting virtual events with information that can be used no matter what college or university students plan to attend.
Fowlerville High School would like to inform parents/guardians of a new source for information. Our "Virtual Counseling Office" has links for future planning, mental health and community resources, special class options, as well as requesting a meeting with a counselor and much more. This information can be found on Fowlerville High School Webpage under the Counseling Department.
