Hello Mustangs!
Brrr...this week has been a cold one, but it certainly hasn't stopped our students from keeping up the good work!
This past weekend MHS hosted a huge VEX Robotics Tournament. Thanks to Manny Aldana, it is the largest robotics tournament in the state! Thinking about joinging the Robotics Club? Scroll down to see a fun video of this event.
Then, on Wednesday, the Film Club braved the chilly weather to attend the Silent Film Festival in Downers Grove this week. Congratulations on winning second place! Keep scrolling to see pictures...and I understand the actual movie will be available for general viewing very soon!
Coming up on January 30th, MHS Theatre will proudly present William Shakespeare's "Macbeth"! Tickets sell out fast so click here to get your tickets today!

MHS Student Film Club wins 2nd Place in Silent Film Festival
On Wednesday night, film club members went to the Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove where a piece they created was entered into a silent film festival. It was fun for them to see their work on a full size screen in such a historic theatre (2nd "talking" theatre in all of America opened in 1928).
Their short film "Charged" came in second place as an audience favorite and their silent film was scored and performed live by a professional musician as the film played.
We want to thank the many staff members who volunteered their time to appear in the student's video. It meant a lot to the students and helped them create a piece worth putting up on a big screen.
Below are some pictures. The final video, as it appeared last night for the live audience, will be shared soon.

This does not evaluate for current high-risk behaviors, rather this is a preventative program to support the development of coping skills and self regulation strategies.
Omni utilizes the Substance Use Risk Profile Scale (SURPS) to screen students for eligibility. To learn more about PreVenture, click below.
