Northridge Board Report

BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING: APRIL 16, 2025
Update from the Board President
Board President Evelyn Vance provided an update on the ongoing superintendent search, noting that the first round of interviews is scheduled for April 28 and 29. She shared that the pool of candidates is strong, and the Board is encouraged by the quality of the applicants.
President Vance also shared that the Board voted to update the district’s organizational chart beginning with the hiring of the new superintendent. Under the new structure, all staff will report directly to the superintendent, with the exception of the EMIS Coordinator, who will continue to report to the treasurer. This shift also includes Technology, Food Service, Transportation, and Buildings and Grounds, who had previously reported to the treasurer.
Update from the Superintendent
Superintendent Dr. Kristine Michael provided an update on leadership changes at Northridge Elementary School following the retirement of Principal Kathleen Erhard. Dr. Michael announced that Mr. Nathaniel Dennison has been named the next Principal of Northridge Elementary School. Mr. Dennison currently serves as the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator and Assistant Principal and brings over two decades of experience in education and school leadership. She shared that his strong background in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and school administration, coupled with the relationships he has already built during his first year at Northridge Elementary, position him well to lead the building with both vision and continuity.
Joining Mr. Dennison in a leadership role will be Mrs. Ashley Ramsey, who will transition from her current role as Instructional Coach to Assistant Principal. Mrs. Ramsey’s passion for teaching and learning, along with her experience in supporting both educators and students, makes her a natural fit for this expanded role.
Dr. Michael also announced the retirement of Neda Haines, a member of the cafeteria staff, who will retire at the end of the 2024–2025 school year. She thanked Neda for her years of service to the Northridge community.
Treasurer Update
Treasurer/CFO Britt Lewis reported continued focus on the district’s financial stability and strategic planning. He expressed support for the Board’s approval of adjustments to secretary compensation and the revised organizational chart.
Lewis noted that the assignment of Business Services and Transportation oversight to the treasurer is permitted under Section 3319.031 of the Ohio Revised Code and he supports the change as part of the transition process for his planned retirement.
