Falcon Flyer for Families!
March 18-March 22, 2024
Falcon Families!
This has been a week to celebrate! Shout out to our Science Fair Regionals participants including McCord Redmond, Eliza Langer and Mary Hollis Watson! McCord Redmond earned Honorable Mention. Also, Congratulations to Mr. Easterday for being selected as the Theta Chapter of Phi Beta Mu International Band Fraternity's Outstanding Young Band Director for 2024. Way to go, Falcons! We are very proud of you.
Falcons, we are VERY close to Spring Break. I know that you are excited, and so are we! Please stay focused as we have STAMP testing before we get out. Please check with your World Language teacher if you are DLI and this test applies to you. We know you will be very successful. In addition, since Quarter 3 is over, and many of our tutors will be out with the 8th grade Washington DC trip, tutoring will be postponed until after we return from Spring Break. Please check with your teacher about working lunch or any other assistance available.
Reminder, this week is a short week for students as teachers have a professional development day on Friday. Therefore, students will not have school on Friday, March 22.
Make it a great week, Falcons!

Talented Teachers!
Ms. Obregon!
Ms. Obregon is an amazing 8th grade ELA teacher who is from Nebraska. She graduated from the University of South Carolina, and she loves to help students find their "voice" through reading and writing. We love Ms. Obregon because she is down-to-earth, and she goes above and beyond by leading the Beta Club and our After School Tutoring program. Thank you, Ms. Obregon, for all that you do!
Ms. Julio!
Shout out to Ms. Julio for trying out a Circle activity in her ESE Spanish class! It took 10 minutes, and it provided a great opportunity for reflection. She used these questions:
What is your opinion about the last class? Use 1 word
Why do you think like that?
What was the most difficult part?
What was the easiest part?
How can we improve?
Night of the Arts!
Mrs. Rubinstien and the Arts department are in search of a committee of volunteers to help organize the upcoming Night of the Arts on April 23rd. If you are interested in lending a hand, please fill out the following form.
Some of the tasks we are looking to organize include a silent auction, a food truck, art sales, assistance with art club students, week-of assembling, and day-of assistance. We may meet all together in person once or twice to organize ourselves, then divvy up.

Our schools are celebrating Women's History Month with activities and lessons that will lift up significant women in the history of our community, state, and nation. Additionally, the achievements of women are a part of our year-long curriculum.
Throughout this month we will share stories and highlights celebrating Women's History Month from some of our schools. We invite you to follow along with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
