Dear Page Families,
The countdown to winter break starts today, it is 12 days away. Here are the weekly updates and some important information.
1. Home-use Acer Chromebook Important Message - Starting December 4, 2024, MCPS will be disabling older Acer model Chromebooks because they have reached end-of-life and should no longer be in use. The models being retired include the Acer C720, C740, C738, and C771.
If your child's home-use chromebook has been disabled, you must return the chromebook and the charger to Page ES. If you wish to request a replacement chromebook from MCPS, you must complete this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdDNdqO31soXKLffjcEzgVQ9C2Z2koPm6ifKm7-K77e44ZhAg/viewform.
2. Page PTA Winter Masquerade Ball Dance - Friday, December 13th from 7:00 -9:00 pm at Page Elementary - This is a Family Dance, please do not drop off students. (See Flyer Below)
- Please RSVP to join us for a night of music, dancing, games, raffles and more! Bring cash for food trucks and raffle tickets.
- We need your support to make the Winter Masquerade Ball a truly magical event! Check out the available slots and sign up to volunteer today. Events like these wouldn’t be possible without your support!
3. Inclement Weather Information - Visit the MCPS Emergency Information Page to learn how to sign up to get notifications for school system emergency messages, district weather closures and more. https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/emergency/
4. Overdue Lunch Balances - Parents are responsible for any negative lunch balance incurred. Parents will receive a cafeteria account statement via U.S. mail or in their child's homework folder, if their child’s cafeteria account has a negative balance. If you have any questions regarding the student cafeteria account, please contact Ms. Euline Graeves, cafeteria manager, at 240- 740-7560 or at euline_greaves@mcpsmd.org.
Parents/guardians are also able to fund their child’s cafeteria account by sending a check made payable to WT Page Cafeteria, please be sure to include the student’s full name and Student ID number on the check. You can also send in cash in an envelope and include your student’s full name and student ID number. If you need assistance complete the FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE MEALS (FARMS) form please reach out to Jade Gilchrist, Parent Community Coordinator - jade_l_gilchrist@mcpsmd.org. If you have any questions regarding approval, please feel free to contact the Division of Food and Nutrition Services at 240-740-7400. 5. 2024-2025 Parent/Guardian Family Engagement Survey -The 2024-2025 Parent/Guardian Family Engagement Survey (English and Spanish Google forms) went out to parents and guardians via Remind, closes December 20th. Please take a moment to complete.

Social Studies Team Hosting Curriculum Night Webinars (Flyer attached)
- The MCPS Social Studies team is hosting a series of Curriculum Night webinars for families to learn more about how social studies is taught in MCPS and how its curricula in kindergarten through 11th grade incorporate the history of various ethnic and cultural groups. The webinars will be held from 6:30–7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

The WT Page PTA is gearing up for our 2025 Silent Auction and we need your support! Please consider a donation of goods, services, or experiences to help us raise money for our kids. All proceeds from the auction directly benefit our students, providing everything from classroom supplies, to technology upgrades, to extracurricular activities and special events.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact on our school community. If you are interested in donating, email fundraising@wtpagepta.org by January 15, 2025 to coordinate a convenient pickup or drop-off.

- While our beloved teachers are busy raising the bar for our kiddos, we are going to set a different "BAR" for them daily to say "Thank YOU" for all their hard work. MCCPTA: Educational Issues
· Please consider joining: MCPS Curriculum Advisory Committees (CAC) - focus is specific subjects; and MCPS Curriculum Advisory Assembly (CAA) - focus is more general
· They meet four times per year. You must be a current PTA member. To apply, fill out the form here.
The Woman's Club of Chevy Chase (WCCC) - Santa's Workshop (flyer below)
- December 14 and 15th at 10 am or 2 pm. Purchase tickets here
- The whole family can have a great time together. You can have your photo taken with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and enjoy fun craft activities at WCCC or stay warm at the fireplaces. There are special areas for decorating cookies and making holiday crafts. Children of all ages get to enjoy this magical time of year. There will be a special amazing model train area set up, where trains deliver carloads of enjoyment for the whole village!
