Dear McDonald Families,
I hope this message finds you well! We’ve had a wonderful few weeks at McDonald Elementary, and I wanted to take a moment to share some exciting happenings with you.
First, a heartfelt thank you to our Home and School Association for organizing the Sweetheart Dance this past Friday, February 21st. It was such a special event where our Bulldog girls had the opportunity to bring a special grown-up male figure from home. It was a beautiful evening filled with joy and connection, and we appreciate all the hard work that went into making it a success.
We were also fortunate that our SWPBIS (School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) committee organized a special guest speaker this week. Ben from Benergy1 shared his inspiring story about living with Autism and his many accomplishments. The students were incredibly engaged, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. It was a fantastic way to encourage empathy and inclusion within our school community.
As we near the end of the second trimester, which wraps up on March 7, 2025, preparations for our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences are underway. These conferences will be held both in-person and virtually on the afternoon of March 14, 2025. Report cards will be available to view in Skyward on March 18th.
Your child’s teacher will reach out to you via email the week of March 3rd if they would like to schedule a conference. If you do not hear from the teacher but would like to meet, please feel free to reach out and request a conference. We truly appreciate your ongoing support in helping us coordinate these important meetings.
