Fun Friday

On Friday, October 18th, Pine Street Elementary hosted their first Fun Friday of the school year. A big thank you goes out to our school staff members and WIPTO parent volunteers for making this event possible, the face painting was definitely a hit!

Friday, October 18th, was the Annual Family, Friends, and Heroes charity football game. This year, the profit was donated to Folds of Honor. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America's fallen or severely disabled military. Due to the generosity of our community, Student Council was able to donate $11,500 to this great organization. Thank you for your support!

2024 MSVMA Regional Honors Choir

Three hardworking and amazing singers made it into the 2024 MSVMA Regional Honors Choir. This required many extra hours of practice outside of school hours. They learned and memorized a Latin piece of music for a video audition and will now be learning four more pieces of music to perform on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Western Michigan University's Dalton Center. This concert will be open to the public and will begin at 3pm. Congratulations, Lillian Harrison, Madison Campos, and Ariel White!

Kids Read Now

Students in Mrs. Licari's class received their certificates and prizes this week for participating in the summer Kids Read Now program. Look at all these enthusiastic readers!

Cornhole Champion!

This week, Dorr Elementary staff have been battling in a bracket-style cornhole competition to celebrate one of the oldest rivalry games, U of M vs. MSU! The final two staff members were PE teacher, Mr. Weber, and Aide, Mrs. Meengs. After a nail-biting first round, it was 2 points for Mrs. Meengs and 0 points for Mr. Weber. In a stunning turn of events, Mr. Weber threw a hole in one, receiving 4 points to win it all! The 3rd graders were happy to cheer on both players. It was a great example of sportsmanship and an unique way to celebrate "The Big Game!" Congratulations, Mr. Weber! You are the Dorr Elementary Staff Cornhole Champion!
