This past month was a great one for our school and community. February began with an amazing visit to our campus by the National Guard, who came with some nice ..., along with a wealth of knowledge. It was great for the students to hear about all that is possible through this one possible path after high school. We then had lovely parent teacher conferences and I personally spoke with over 25 parents about our community school. I also got some valuable input from these parents from our conversations & on our survey. Later in the month we partnered with The Olive Tree for visit from Arrive Alive. Arrive Alive provided students with a virtual reality driving simulation, that demonstrated the possible consequences associated with distracted or impaired driving. We were able to impact over 120 students with this experience. All of which vouched to be apart of the solution and not the problem. The month came to a close with our winter dance her on campus. It was an amazing turnout and a great time for those in attendance.
This month is already off to a great start with a very thoughtful and effective blood drive hosted by our JROTC. And our college, career, community resource event hosted by myself, Coach Corner, and our guidance counselor, Ms. Martha Hernandez. This was a fantastic event and opportunity for students of differing ages to be able to learn about there options after high school. We hosted between 30 - 40 vendors and reached even more families. We look forward to our community health fair and other events coming this month. Soon to come, is a FAFSA night be on the look out for more information.
