Congratulations Mr. Sandoval!
Mr. Sandoval received recognition from the school board on March 19th, as the Secondary Teacher of Year! Go Dragons! His wife and kids were there to join in on this outstanding accomplishment!
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
Cyndal Verstuyft and her pig, Penny, placed 1st at the Houston Livestock Show fpr Champion Duroc and Reserve Supreme/Grand Overall Champion. Her prize was $2300 dollars in scholarship money as well as 3 round trip travel vouchers. After winning, Penny goes back to her breeders so that she can be bred and have piglets in July.

Seniors Ads are on sale now. You can purchase a maximum of two pages. Final payment is due March 8th. You can put a $25 deposit down to hold a page.
The prices are as follows:
Full page- $150
Half page - $80

May 17, 20 and 21, 2024
Senior Final Exams
May 17 - 1,3,5,7
May 20 - 2,4,6
May 21 - Make up exams
All failures must be turned in to Mrs. Allen and Mr. Garcia no later than 4:30. Students will be considered passing if their name is not submitted on time.
May 22, 2024
Seniors need to bring their gown
Students report to the competition gym no later than 8:50 AM
Graduates need to bring their gowns

Mr. Johnson will explain the rules and expectations of the graduates.
Senior Graduation Panoramic Picture - 11:00 (not yet confirmed)
All students not turning in their checklist will be pulled from the gym and must remain separated from graduates until they turn in their checklist.
Students needing to make up credit or attendance will be removed from the gym and placed in their alternate locations and will remain there until they have completed their time or credit requirements.
Graduation Practice Day 1 - May 23, 2024
Seniors need to bring their cap and gown
Seniors report to the competition gym by 8:50. They will be assigned to a bus based on their elementary/middle school and we will complete the Feeder School Senior Walk.
Students released –after all activities are completed.
Students needing to make up credit or attendance will remain on campus until they have completed their time or credit requirements.
Students that need to wait on the buses will be released after lunch to holding rooms. Any student that is on campus after lunch without permission will face disciplinary action.
Senior Field Trip - May 24, 2024
Students who qualified and signed up for the Senior Trip will load buses at 9:15 am and travel to Schlitterbahn. Students not participating in the trip will report to the gym and work on graduation practice information. Senior trip students will return to campus no later than 8:00 pm.
Students on campus will be released after all senior activities are complete.
Students needing to make up credit or attendance will remain on campus until they have completed their time or credit requirements.
Students that need to wait on the buses will be released after lunch to holding rooms.
Graduation Practice Day 2 - May 28, 2024
Students will be numbered for graduation.
Students not attending practice on May 28th will not have a seat on the floor of the dome for graduation.
Students released –after all activities are completed.
Students needing to make up credit or attendance will remain on campus until they have completed their time or credit requirements.
Students that need to wait on the buses will be released after lunch to holding rooms.
Graduation Practice Day 3 & 4 - May 29 - 30, 2024
Students not attending practice on May 29th or May 30th will not have a seat on the floor of the dome for graduation.
Students will practice for graduation in the gym.
Students released –after all activities are completed.
Students needing to make up credit or attendance will remain on campus until they have completed their time or credit requirements.
Students that need to wait on the buses will be released after lunch to holding rooms.
June 2, 2023 – Graduation Day - Southwest High School
Students Arrive at SWHS for food and busses - 10:35
All students planning on attending graduation must take the bus from school to participate.
Students load busses - 11:05-11:20
Students Arrive at the Alamodome - 11:45-12:00
Practice at the Alamodome – 12:00-12:15
Doors open at the dome for guests - 1:00
There is no charge for attending graduation
Parking at the Alamodome is $10.00
Students prepare for graduation backstage - 1:15-1:45
Graduation - 2:00-4:15
Dome cleared by 5:00.
