Tiger Tales for Parents
March 10, 2024
A Note from the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Exciting news! Panoply of the Arts is happening this Thursday! We can't wait to celebrate the performing arts, including band, orchestra, chorus, art, and drama.
Starting this Monday, our school will kick off the annual March Madness Reading Competition! Classes will compete to reach the elite eight, the final four, and eventually the reading showdown! Students can participate by reading at home or at school and logging their minutes using Beanstack.
TIGERTHON registration has arrived! Registration opened on March 7th for our annual fundraiser. This event is dedicated to supporting our teachers and students, with all proceeds going directly back to the school! See details in PTA's TigerTalk.
Wondering about your child's academic progress? Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for March 13. Teachers will provide a sign-up link on Dojo. Remember, parents can request a conference at any time. Please inquire about your child's reading level, overall progress, and ways you can support their learning at home.
Each week's newsletters will feature a special update from our dynamic HHES PTA! Keep scrolling to read the message.
This week's schedule:
- Monday: Parent Mental Health Workshop 7:00pm-8:00pm (staff are welcome); Return Chromebooks and assignments from Independent Learner Day; March Madness Reading Challenge begins!
- Tuesday: PTA General mtg 7:45-8:15 (Music Room); After-school tutorial; Election Day (Media Center closed)
- Wednesday: Parent/Teacher conferences 3-5pm
- Thursday: Pi Day; No After-school tutorial; Panoply of Arts 6:00pm-7:30pm

Interested in summer school? Click here to discover DCSD opportunities. The Summer Academy student names will be submitted by the school to the district. Parents of ESOL students will receive invitations to the ELL summer program from the school, with applications coming home in May.
Remember, school attendance is vital for student success. We understand it's flu/COVID season, but if your child is healthy, please ensure they attend school every day.
Proud to Serve,
Mia Bradshaw, Principal

Exceptional Education Parent Survey
In collaboration with the Georgia State Department of Education, the Department of Exceptional Education will conduct a 2024 parent satisfaction survey for parents and guardians of students with disabilities. As always, our goal is to partner with families to raise the achievement and graduation rates of students with disabilities.
The Parent Satisfaction Survey helps the District and the State to measure the success of parent engagement with the local schools and to determine how to better address parent/family needs. The survey consists of 10 statements and will be open to all families of students with disabilities.
