Band Buzz: January 28, 2024

No amount of bad weather is going to keep this crew down. Big congrats to our winter guard for a 2nd place win on Saturday! Looking forward to more great performances as we more closer to more concerts and our spring trip.

Our theme for next year's marching band show is official! Looking forward to the students spreading their wings.

Open booster club positions

We're looking for a VP of Fundraising for next year. Primary duties are attending monthly booster club meetings and contacting businesses to sponsor the upcoming marching season. Please reach out to vp@clhsband.org with questions or if you can support.

Meal setup for UIL judges (Feb 3rd)

Clear Lake will be hosting UIL competition on February 3rd. We need a handful of parent volunteers to set up breakfast and lunch for the judges. If you are available to help, please let Mr. Pearce know at jpearce@ccisd.net.

Band/Color Guard banquet (May 10th)

Please be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities for our annual banquet this coming May. It's a great way to let our kids know we appreciate all their hard work. More info below.

Congratulations to the Clear Lake HS Winter Guard for placing 2nd in their classification at their first contest on Saturday! What a great way to start their competitive season.

Tomorrow, the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will continue their Monday Night rehearsals. On Wednesday, Concert Band will continue their Wednesday afternoon.

On Saturday, students will participate in the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. Parents are welcome to come and watch their student perform. Volunteer sheets will go up tomorrow, as we will need a lot of student help to run the contest.

Our coffee and tumblers fundraiser ends on Wednesday. Please help us get the word out by sending the link out to friends and family.

All proceeds help support our programs next year. Experienced parent note: the tumblers are on a separate page noted in the screenshot below.

If you've hesitated to participate in the CLHS Band Booster Club, now's the time to step up! As we move into the second half of the school year, know that some of our dedicated booster parents will be moving on as their students move on and we need you to fill in those gaps. The more people we have, the easier it is to manage our events and our fundraisers which cover a significant portion of our program include uniforms, props, and music. We're already starting discussions for next year's program so the sooner you join the smoother the transition will be into next year. Booster Club representatives will be on hand at MEGABand Day or reach out with questions to vp@clhsband.org.
