Toys during recess & lunch

Families, please partner with us by having students keep toys (i.e. bat and ball, rubik's cube, racquets and birdie) at home so that students do not take them out during recess and lunch. Please also remind students that contact sports on campus are not allowed, including made up games.

May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Fun Facts!

- May 7, 1843 is the date that marks the first Japanese immigrant to the United States - a 14 year old fisherman named Manjiro who arrived by a whaling ship and is sometimes called "The U.S.'s first ambassador to Japan."

- Did you know that several Asian American and Pacific Islander women served in World War II? Many women were trained as translators and interpreters. Other women put their lives on the line through the underground resistance in the Philippines.
