STUDENT BOOK REVIEW
What Made Them Great: Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln’s story is one of resilience, courage, and leadership. Born into poverty, he educated himself, worked tirelessly, and rose to become one of America’s greatest presidents. Faced with a nation divided by war, he stood firm in his belief that the Union must be preserved. His commitment to justice led to the Emancipation Proclamation, a defining moment in the fight against slavery. Through his speeches and actions, he inspired hope and unity in a time of deep turmoil. Lincoln’s legacy proves that determination, integrity, and vision can change history. His story continues to inspire leaders and dreamers alike. John B. Severance brings Lincoln’s journey to life in What Made Them Great: Abraham Lincoln. The book explores his struggles, triumphs, and lasting impact with vivid storytelling and historical depth. A truly compelling and inspiring read.

Nature’s Woman
I created this artwork, Nature’s Woman, as a heartfelt expression of my deep love for nature. Through it, I hope to inspire others to pause and reflect—inviting them to truly think about the profound connection we share with the natural world. Amira Alhassan, MYP Year 5

A MOTHER’S ME TIME
Mothers, let's make time for our children. Every child desires their mother's pride and attention. As mothers, it's essential we prioritize quality time with our children. Just 5 minutes daily can make a significant difference!
Why is this time crucial?
1. Academic Excellence: Discussing school and learning goals fosters academic success.
2. Emotional Support: Sharing their day and overcoming challenges provides comfort and reassurance.
3. Building Trust: By being our children's first confidant, we help them trust us more than their peers.
The Impact:
By having this daily "me time" with our children:
1. Reduces Peer Pressure: Our children will feel comfortable coming to us with their concerns.
2. Fosters Open Communication: We'll be the first to hear about their successes and struggles.
3. Empowers Confidence: Our encouragement will help them grow into confident, successful individuals.
Let's Embrace Our Role
As mothers, we are the foundation of our children's success. Let's cherish this role and make time for our kids. Together, we can shape a brighter future for them.
