It is now time to renew your Sha'arei Orah membership for 5785!
We have moved into a new space at the Gratz College Bala Campus, 382 Bala Avenue!
This move to a larger space includes a significant expansion of our services: Weekly Friday night davening as well as semi-regular Shabbat afternoon mincha/maariv, and nighttime davening for all Chagim. For the first time, we are also offering indoor High Holiday services in our new space, which includes childcare for children over age 3. Under the leadership of Rabbanit Sarna, we are adding new programs for important moments in the Jewish calendar such as Yom Hashoa, Tisha B'av, and Selichot. With the larger space, we are finally able to expand our youth programming to include training teen leaders, and offering organized programs for kids ages 2-11+. We will also continue to offer beautiful davening, delicious kiddushes, community-building social events, joyous holiday celebrations, and inspiring educational events and visiting scholars.
To continue providing vibrant Torah, davening, programming, and learning, and to provide adequate security so we can continue to support this amazing community as we grow and expand our services, we need your support.
Click here to renew your membership.
Sha’arei Orah membership continues to be set at an affordable rate so everyone can invest in our community. To achieve our goals of financial stability, we encourage everyone to give generously. Please consider going above and beyond the base membership dues. Suggested donation amounts are Founder ($2,500), Pillar ($1,800), or Builder ($1,000). In addition, if your employer offers a matching gift program, consider asking if your donation to Sha’arei Orah can be matched. Matching gift programs are a form of corporate philanthropy, where businesses match the donations their employees make to charitable organizations.
Of course, financial circumstances should not be an obstacle to membership for anyone. Please reach out to a member of the Board to make alternate membership arrangements.
Volunteer Opportunities
Sha'arei Orah Committees
At our annual membership meeting, we had the opportunity to hear about all of the accomplishments and plans of our shul's lay-led committees. Going forward, there's so much that we can build together, but it's going to take everyone's talents. There are committees that could use new members, and in addition to committees, there are lots of other big and small ways you can volunteer your talents. On the form below you can sign up for committees and also let us know what kinds of talents and skills you would like to offer our community.
