Meet the Staff
Ms. Walle
Jamie Walle graduated from Bloomingdale High School, went on to Lake Michigan Community College, and graduated with a Bachelor's from Grand Valley State University in Physical Education with an Elementary Minor. She then achieved her Master's in Educational Leadership. Ms. Walle has worked at Glenn School in multiple capacities including PE teacher, After School Coordinator, Instructional Aide, and Upper Elementary Teacher.
Ms. Walle loves to host family and friends at her house for get-togethers where she enjoys cooking for everyone.
Ms. Walle chose to come to Glenn School because of the small town community. The small class sizes helps her get to know all of the students and their families.

Ms. Cook
Jenn Cook is new to Glenn School as the first and second grade teacher. She is coming to us with experience teaching at Hamilton Public Schools. She has worked in fourth and fifth grade as well as a Reading Interventionalist. Ms. Cook received her Bachelor's Degree from Grand Valley State University. She made the decision to join Glenn School for the small class size, outdoor opportunities, and the age group of her students.
Ms. Cook has three kids at home, Eli, Ben and Grayce, plus a few pets. In her spare time you can find her hiking, traveling, gardening, and crafting.
Miss Larabel
Marissa Larabel graduated from Lake Michigan College with an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also continuing her education with the goal of becoming a certified teacher. She has 7 years of childcare and preschool experience.
Ms. Larabel is starting her second year as a teaching assistant at Glenn School. She chose Glenn School because of the small community and family atmosphere in the school. She likes how everyone gets to know each other so well and it feels like family.
Ms. Larabel has three children at home, a 16 year-old son, and two daughters, 11 and 10.
Did you know that Ms. Larabel loves Ninja Turtles and is the only person in her family that is left handed?
Mrs. Stivers
Jenna Stivers is returning as the kindergarten teacher for her seventh year. In her classroom, you will find her creating an atmosphere for life-long learning and teaching writing, her favorite subject!
Mrs. Stivers attended Lake Michigan Community College before heading to Western Michigan University to earn her Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education. She hopes to continue on to earn her Master's Degree soon!
When Mrs. Stivers isn't at school, she is home with her husband, dogs, and cat (possibly while listening to Lady Gaga). If anyone is looking to get her a special treat she loves pizza, ice cream, and sour patch kids.
Ms. Parkhill
Angela Parkhill is joining us for her second year at Glenn School. Her goal is to create a family of learners in her classroom.
Ms. Parkhill has 11 years of experience teaching. She has a Bachelors of Art in Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University. She also has additional endorsements in English Language Arts and Spanish.
At home Ms. Parkhill has two big dogs, two cats and three children (Calvin, 21, Abi, 18, and Andrea, 16). She also has bees!
Chocolate is the way to spoil Ms. Parkhill. She's open to most any type! But don't forget the sweet tea to wash it down with.
Ms. Proper
Jessica Proper studied music at Hope College. She loves music so much she even studied Opera! Ms. Proper is now attending Western Governors University to study Elementary Education. She is in her second year of school and her second year of working in the classroom.
Ms. Proper is excited to join Glenn School because of the nature based opportunities and the focus on community service. She's looking forward to the small classroom sizes that will allow her to build strong relationships with the staff and students.
Ms. Jesser
Katie Jesser graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Business. She then returned to GVSU to obtain a second degree in Language Arts with a minor in Elementary Education.
Mrs. Jesser loves Glenn School because of the family connection. Her grandma attended as a child, then three of Mrs. Jesser's four boys attended Glenn School as well.
Ms. Kerr
Patricia Kerr has been teaching music for over 40 years.
Ms. Kerr graduated from Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois. She has studied at American Conservatory of Music and continues to attend trainings for Orff, Level 1 & 2.
In the past, she was the front for an all female band, Ira Gobu, and had a recording contract with RCA Records. She has also had music featured in TV and film.
Ms. Kerr choose Glenn because her family built a home along the lakeshore where her family came to visit in the summers. Her son, Dave, and their relatives enjoy splashing in Lake Michigan.
Mrs. Null
Barb Null has been an educator for 24 years, including 14 years at Glenn School. She was a lead classroom teacher 2003 to 2017. Currently, Mrs. Null holds our Special Education Teacher position.
She continues to work with kids because she loves it and enjoys helping them become lifelong learners.
Outside of school, Mrs. Null enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and 7 grandkids.
Mrs. Bain
Mrs. Bain is a graduate of University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has been working at Hamilton Community Schools for six years. During her time there, she has been substitute teaching, a classroom aide, and the school librarian. Additionally, Mrs. Bain has coached Total Trek Quest and soccer teams.
Glenn School drew Mrs. Bain based on our focus of creating life long learners, and a commitment to a nature rich learning environment.
Mrs. Mauro
Lindsey Mauro graduated from Grand Valley State University with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She has worked as a registered nurse for the last 17 years.
Mrs. Mauro and her husband moved to Glenn four years ago and loves everything about living here. When she's not at work, she's at the beach hunting for rocks, spending time with her family or taking a nap.
One of Mrs. Mauro's favorite things is starting her days with the before school crew. She enjoys how fun and rewarding it is.
Ms. Cate
Cate Rutter graduated from Lake Michigan College with an associate's degree in Applied Business. She recently began the path to a bachelor's degree from University of Phoenix.
Ms. Cate started working at Glenn School six years ago. You can find her in the office, substitute teaching, and coaching Total Trek Quest. Glenn School drew her in with the charming building, welcoming people, and the uniqueness of the nature rich program.
Ms. Cate is a lover of chocolate (sea salt caramel ideally), coffee, and plants. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her daughter, walk her dogs, enjoy the beach, and read all the books.

Meet the Board of Education
Kevin Poolman
Kevin Poolman is a Business Development Manager and Sales Engineer for North America, Extruded Plastic Sheet Products. He attended Davenport University for Sales and Marketing. He's worked in Operations and Sales for 36 years. Mr. Poolman also served 10 years in the US Air Force, both active and reserve, before returning to Michigan.
Mr. Poolman is married with two children, and his first grandchild. When he's not at work he enjoys spending time with his family, boating, bicycling, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Mr. Poolman found himself at Glenn School because his wife and two children all attended. He and his family have been involved with the school for many years in various capacities. When the opportunity came up to learn more about the inner workings of the school and to serve in a larger role, Mr. Poolman was very excited. He finds the staff are vibrant, focused group of people to work with. He appreciates the expertise and dedication of all staff members and the way the students are cared for continue to inspire him.
Mr. Poolman was appointed to the Board in August 2022, and then elected in November 2022. He holds the position of Board President.
Amber Brush
Amber Brush attended Lake Michigan College, where she obtained an Associate's Degree. She is the office manager at Brush Enterprises in South Haven. She and her husband also run a small farm at their home.
Mrs. Brush has three children. Her oldest just joined the Marines, she has a sophomore, and her youngest attends Glenn School as a second grader. She enjoys spending time with her kids, including watching all their sporting events. When her kids aren't keeping her busy, she enjoys cuddling up with a good movie at home.
Mrs. Brush loves the sense of community and family at Glenn School! When her youngest, Parker, started at Glenn School she felt the desire to be as involved as much as she could possibly be. She feels that being on the board is the best way to advocate for all Glenn School students.
Mrs. Brush was elected to the Board in November 2022. She holds the position of Board Treasurer.
Natalie Mika
Natalie Mika was elected to the Board of Education in November 2022. She had two children that attended Glenn School.
Ms. Mika holds the position of Board Secretary.
