Koch's Korner
Dear Leeds Future Stars Families,
I wish you health, happiness, and peace for the New Year. As we celebrate this new year, 2023, it is always a great time for looking back to the past, but more importantly, looking forward to the coming year. It is a time to reflect on the changes we want, or need, to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.
I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and that your children are as excited to be back, as we are excited to have them! So far 2022 has been filled with energy and a passion for learning. I can see it on your kids’ faces and hear it in their conversations. They are eager to continue their learning and we are eager to teach them! As we enter 2023, we often create resolutions as this is a natural time to “reboot.” At Leeds Elementary School, we take this time to reemphasize our philosophy of continuous improvement, and our goal of giving kids what they need, when they need it. We live these words each day as we constantly adjust our instruction to meet the needs of our students. What that means to us is that each day, we strive to deliver the best instruction, based on what our kids each need individually. We believe that Leeds Elementary School is a GREAT school, in a GREAT school district, and in 2023 we will continue with our promise to meet the needs of each child, each day, so that they can reach their full potential.
Happy 2023
Mr. Koch
Principal, Leeds Elementary School
Important Calendar Reminder

Communication and Preparedness
Student and staff safety is of paramount importance in the Sioux City Community School District. For this reason, the District exercises a host of crisis prevention and planning tactics. Should an emergency occur, the school notifies you through our Blackboard phone system. In an emergency, the system calls every phone number associated with your child in order to reach you. The message will give you details about the emergency and provide directions on when/where to pick up your child if the normal school day is altered. Learn more about school safety.
