Mothers Day Prayer
We come before you with gratitude in our hearts. We thank you for the gift of mothers, who embody your nurturing and unconditional love here on Earth.
We pray for all mothers, both near and far, those who are with us and those who have passed on to your eternal embrace. May they be blessed with strength, wisdom, and patience as they guide and support their children through life's journey.
Grant them moments of joy and laughter amidst the challenges they face. May they find comfort in knowing that their love is cherished and their sacrifices are appreciated.
We ask for your grace to be upon mothers who are struggling, whether it be with health, finances, or relationships. Surround them with your peace and provide them with the support they need.
Finally, we pray for ourselves as children, that we may honour our mothers not just today, but every day. Help us to express our love and gratitude in words and deeds, and to cherish the precious moments we share with them.
In your infinite love and mercy, hear our prayer.
Amen

Dear Parents and Members of our School Community
STAFFING
Mr Franchina will be undertaking long service leave for Terms 3 and 4. Earlier this term, the Leadership Team began the process to appoint a new Year 6 teacher for the remainder of 2024. We would like to announce that Ms Maria Collins was the successful candidate for the position and will commence in Term 3. Maria brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to education, and we are confident that she will make a positive impact on our students' learning journey. Maria’s commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment aligns perfectly with our school's values and we are excited to see the wonderful experiences she will create for our Year 6 students. Please join us in congratulating, Maria!
Whilst Mr Franchina is away, our beloved chooks will also be going taking a holiday and will return to St Denis when he does.
P&F THANK YOU
We wanted to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the parents who generously volunteered their time and efforts to organise the delightful Mother's Day Breakfast. A special thank you goes out to Enzo La Pegna and Oriana Panelli for all their efforts in preparing for the day. Your dedication and hard work made the event truly special for all the mothers, grandmothers, and special guests who attended. From setting up decorations to preparing delicious treats, your contributions helped create a memorable and heart-warming experience for everyone involved. The smiles on the faces of our mums spoke volumes about the love and care that went into planning the event. It was a joy to witness the sense of community and togetherness that permeated throughout the morning.
We are incredibly grateful for your support and commitment to making our school community a vibrant and inclusive one.
CONFIRMATION
Please keep in your thoughts and prayer the Year 6 students as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday 24 May. This is a significant event in their Catholic faith journey.
3 YEAR OLD PROGRAM
We have 3 positions left in our 3-Year-Old Program (Pre-Kindy) for the 2025 school year. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please submit an Application Form to the office as soon as possible.
CEWA CHILD SAFE FRAMEWORK
At St Denis School, we are dedicated to creating a safe, positive and supportive learning environment that engages and protects our students. To achieve this, we have implemented the Child Safe Framework, which provides a set of practices for all members of our school community to follow.
The three key practices of the Child Safe Framework are designed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
Situational Prevention
We have situational prevention measures in place, which include visibility of students and staff and an open and transparent culture. We are constantly evaluating our environment, including online, to identify ways to increase safety.
Extended Guardianship
We believe that child safety is everyone's responsibility, and every adult in our school community has an active role to play in ensuring the safety of children and young people. We call this extended guardianship.
Healthy Respectful Relationships
Finally, we foster healthy and respectful relationships among all members of our school community. We expect everyone to interact in a manner that is respectful and honours the dignity of others.
By following these practices, we create a child safe culture that models the behaviours we expect from all members of our school community. We have also implemented specific procedures, such as our School Code of Conduct, How to Report a Concern and Behaviour Management Plan, to ensure that we are meeting the requirements of the Child Safe Framework. These are easily accessible on our school website. Last year our upper primary students reviewed the Student Code of Conduct and the process for students to report concerns.
We have integrated the Keeping Safe Program into our curriculum, which is taught across all year levels. Your child's class teacher has sent home information about the specific topics and discussion points that will be covered this term. We encourage all families to become familiar with the program and the Child Safe Framework.
Together, we can create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students at St Denis School.
More information about the Child Safe Framework can be found here:
