Cahaba Celebrates a Historic State Art Win Cahaba Celebrates a Historic State Art Win

Cahaba Elementary Celebrates a Historic State Art Win

We are beyond excited to share that Cahaba's very own star artist Arthur Navarro-Cox in Kindergarten has won second place in the ENTIRE STATE for grades K-2 in the Alabama State Superintendent's Visual Arts Exhibit! This is such an amazing achievement and marks the first time Cahaba Elementary has ever placed in this prestigious statewide competition!

Arthur's award-winning masterpiece, King Arthur, was created as part of our royal self-portrait project, where students used oil pastels and watercolors to explore shapes, lines, and colors while expressing what makes them truly unique. His bright colors, thoughtful details, and unique creative style made his piece stand out among submissions from other young artists across the state!

But Arthur's talent goes beyond his art - he is such a bright, happy, and hardworking student who always gives his best effort and is a wonderful helper to both his classmates and Ms. Barnett in the art room. His kindness, enthusiasm, and dedication make this achievement even more special!

We are so proud of Arthur and all of our young artists who continue to shine, create, and make Cahaba Elementary proud!

Mrs. Parker's 2nd Grade Class: Planting Morning Glory and Grass Seeds!

In Mrs. Parker's 2nd grade class, students embarked on an exciting journey of discovery by learning how to care for plants and understand what they need to grow. They planted morning glory seeds and grass seeds then eagerly watched as the process unfolded before their eyes.

Each student took responsibility for their own plants, providing care and attention. They studied the plants closely, observing their growth and changes. To enhance their learning experience, the students kept journals where they documented their observations and reflections.

Through this hands-on activity, the class not only learned about the essential needs of plants, such as sunlight, water, and soil, but also developed a sense of responsibility and appreciation for nature. So much fun and learning is taking place in the 2nd grade!

Cahaba Enrich Class Hosts Local Author

Local author, Sally Murray, recently visited LitWits, a Cahaba Enrich group that meets weekly to celebrate reading and writing. LitWits members share books they’re enjoying and create book blurbs for display in the school library. During the visit, Sally Murray, gave students an inside look at her writing process, the journey to publication, and some of her own books. She also led an engaging writing activity, inspiring students to step into the role of writers themselves. It was an exciting opportunity for young readers and writers to learn firsthand from a published author!

Circool Launches in Trussville City Schools Circool Launches in Trussville City Schools

Our schools are transitioning to Circool as our district-wide visitor management program. This is another measure to assure the parents, guardians, and the community that the system is working diligently to provide a safe and secure environment for TCS students and staff. When you need to enter our school beyond the atrium, you will checkin at the front desk, present your Circool QR Code and receive a name badge.

Why Circool? Many of our schools have been using Circool when we host events, now Circool will also be used for individual entry, reunification and soon many other applications. We recognize the need for fewer, more integrated applications, not only to enhance school safety but also to streamline your experience.
