Greetings from Principal Bame
Dear AMS Families,
As we approach the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support and partnership throughout this academic year. Your involvement and dedication have played a crucial role in making this year a successful and enriching experience for our students. Together, we have navigated the challenges and celebrated the achievements, and I am truly thankful for the collaborative spirit that has defined our school community. It is through our combined efforts that our students have been able to grow, learn, and thrive.
As we wrap up the school year, I wish you and your families a restful summer break. May it be filled with fun, relaxation, and wonderful memories. We look forward to welcoming our students back in the August, refreshed and ready for another exciting year of learning.
4th Quarter Report Card Distribution
- Report cards will be sent home with students on the last day of school. This decision was made primarily to avoid the substantial cost of postage, which individual schools are now required to fund.
- This process helps us allocate more resources directly to our students' educational needs. If your student is not on campus the last day of school, you may always view their final grades through the PowerSchool Parent Portal or come by the school to pick up their report card in the front office. 2024 Spring EOC/ EOG Score Reports
Students will bring home school curated data sheets this afternoon. In addition, parents of students who took EOG or EOC tests this spring will be able to view their child’s Individual Student Report (ISR) in PowerSchool on the dates listed below. To view your child’s ISR, log in to PowerSchool (https://wcpss.powerschool.com/public) and click on State Test Reports in the left side of the menu. (The ISRs will only be viewable in the web-based version of PowerSchool.
They are currently not viewable in the PowerSchool mobile app.)
Results will be available on the following schedule:
Week of June 24 for all students who tested through June 21*
Week of July 8 for all remaining assessments.
- For additional information about how to interpret these results, please view this short video or go to the NCDPI ISR webpage or the WCPSS Understanding EOG/EOC Test Results page.

EOG/ EOC Test Dates 2024
8th Grade Commencement Check Out Process
We are trying something new this year! To minimize waiting times for families after the 8th-grade commencement ceremony, please fill out the checkout form below in advance of the ceremony day.
NOTE: There are NO tickets for the 8th Grade Commencement. The event is a first come, first serve experience. We recommend arriving early. Doors will open at 8:30 am for visitors to begin accessing seating in our gym. Please be prepared for warm conditions. Although we have asked for the county to "pre-cool" our gym overnight, the age of our gym system is a factor during warmer months.
If you have already completed this form before or on June 12th, there is no need to sign out again after the ceremony. NOTE: Students who remain on campus after the commencement will follow a normal school schedule. There are no special activities planned after the event.
If a current AMS sibling will attend the ceremony and leave afterward, please sign them out in advance using this form.
