News from the Admin Team
Knights Family,
Thank you to all who came to our RTG today. It was an amazing time and our PTO did a fabulous job of planning, organizing, and hosting the event. It truly was so much fun to see all of the kids running together with friends and family, enjoying snacks, and playing endlessly on the inflatables. We know how much time and energy it takes to plan an event like that and this was far beyond awesome! Thank you parents for all that you donated in supplies to ensure that all were well fed and hydrated.
We got to send off our Champion Chargers Cross Country team during RTG as they head to state today. The students loved the high fives and seeing the police escorts for the team. Good luck Chargers!
We unveiled our new "Knight" mascot today and the kids loved meeting him. We will have the students vote on his name next week and will officially name him.
3rd grade students will be taking STAAR Interim tests for Reading and Math on November 4th and 5th. This will allow them the opportunity to practice taking the assessment online with any designated supports that they will receive.
We have 3 weeks until the Thanksgiving Break and they will be packed with new learning and assessments. Let's continue the winning streak of exceeding our attendance goal so that our students continue to grow.
Enjoy the weekend making wonderful Fall memories!
We love our Knight families,
Jennifer Escamilla, Principal and Chelsea Allison, Assistant Principal
Good morning BISD families,
I am excited to announce that the referral window for the Gifted and Talented program will be open from November 15th to December 17th. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to nominate your child for consideration in our Gifted and Talented program, which is designed to provide advanced educational opportunities for students who demonstrate exceptional abilities.
If you believe your child would benefit from this program, please take the time to submit a referral during this window. Additional information about the process, including the referral link, can be found on the district’s Advanced Academics website linked here.
I encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the referral process. Thank you for your continued support in fostering our students’ growth and potential.
Best regards,
Christine Poulis
Director of Advanced Academics
Attendance
This week's attendance was 96% and our goal is 97%! We almost made it! However, this is still growth from last week. We want to remind you that daily attendance is very important to your child's overall success. We understand that special circumstances and illnesses do happen, so please continue to email Michelle.Toczynski@boerneisd.net if your child is absent.
Tardies
Please remember that school begins at 7:35 and instruction takes place immediately. Therefore, it is important that all students get to school on time. Please partner with us to ensure your child arrives on time and can engage in the instruction beginning at 7:35. As always, we understand things happen occasionally and you may run late. If you arrive late with your child, please park and walk them into the front office to assist them in signing in and receiving a tardy slip.
Arrival Time
We are beginning to see students arriving before 7:05 AM at the front of our building. Please know that staff do not begin their duties until 7:05 AM, meaning your child is unattended at this time. To ensure safety for all students, we ask that you drop off students between 7:05AM and 7:30 AM.
Lunch Visitors
Parents please be sure to check your students lunch account periodically to ensure there is not a negative balance.
We welcome parents visiting during their students scheduled lunch time. You must check in at the front office and receive a visitor badge before you are permitted access to the cafeteria. Once in the cafeteria, you may sit at the designated parent tables closest to the stage or make your way outside to the outdoor eating area. Your student is the only one permitted to eat with you. Please refrain from inviting other students to join you. Additionally, we ask that you do not stay in the cafeteria after your student's lunch time is over. You will need to make your way back to the front at this time and allow your student to rejoin their class.

Security Updates
Parents and family of KES students,
-Remember to drive with due regard to other drivers, pedestrians and most importantly, the children, in the morning during drop-off and in the afternoon during pick-up. I have seen many cars get in a hurry, then they speed and pass other cars in the drop-off/pick-up loop that had some close calls to almost causing an accident. Reckless driving is a criminal traffic offense. See Texas Transportation code 545.401 - RECKLESS DRIVING. This is why in the morning the school has cones up in the inside lane to discourage and prevent passing one another in an unsafe manner.
-Ensure that if you have a child under eight years old and they are less than 4 feet and 9 inches the child must be secured in a child passenger safety seat system. This is also a traffic offense, Texas Transportation Code 545.412 – CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY SEAT SYSTEMS.
-If you come to the campus, please check-in at the front desk and then check-out as well. We need to know who is in the school for accountability reasons.
-If you are made aware of anything related to Kendall Elementary’s safety and security or personal safety concerns from your kid(s) at home, please report it to the Kendall Elementary Administration or myself. There is also a link online to report concerns anonymously. Staff and/or myself will investigate the concern. I am always here for you, the students, and staff. Do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you,
School Resource Officer Shelton

Share the Wins
At Kendall, we love to celebrate our staff and share the wins each day. Every time we give a staff member a shout out, we link it to one of our core values.
