Spring is here and the warm lovely weather means we will be spending more time outside.

Please remember to check your children carefully for ticks each day. The Maine Department of Health and Human Services advises frequent tick checks after spending time outdoors is the best way to prevent Lyme disease and other tick borne illnesses.

• Removal of a tick within 24-36 hours of attachment can help prevent disease transmission.

• Wear light-colored clothing that covers arms and legs in order to spot ticks more easily.

• Use an EPA-approved repellent such as: DEET, picaridin, IR3535, or oil of lemon eucalyptus.

• Perform tick checks on yourself, family members, and pets daily and after any outdoor activity. Take a shower after exposure to a tick habitat to wash off any crawling ticks.

New for the 2025-2026 school year, PreK C.H.O.I.C.E.S will be offering a digital open house and an earlier lottery application process beginning April 1st, 2025!

We are partnering with Hannaford Grocery Stores for the Hannaford Helps Schools program, running from March 16 to June 7! At checkout, customers will receive a School Dollar printout they can redeem online to donate to any school in this program.

To redeem School Dollars, all shoppers need to do is enter the unique printout code and store number on the Hannaford Helps Schools program website and select their school. Each School Dollar printout has a QR code that will bring shoppers directly to this link, ensuring that redeeming School Dollars is as easy as possible.
