Berkeley County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Charity Ballard as the new principal of Winchester Avenue School following the Regular Board of Education Meeting on Monday, July 15, 2024.
Ms. Ballard joins the WAS administration following 12 years of experience as a professional educator with Berkeley County Schools, serving as a teacher and assistant principal at Valley View Elementary School.
Ms. Ballard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Shepherd University with endorsements in Pre-K and Kindergarten. She also holds a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Frostburg State University.
"I am looking forward to collaborating with parents, students, and staff to help us reach our goals," said Ballard. "We have a lot of work to do, but I know that if we all come together, we will help our students be the best they can be."
" Ms. Ballard is an exceptional adminstrator who will greatly contribute to our students' success and uphold our belief in providing a Model school experience for all students," said Lewis Mullenax, BCS Executive Director of Elementary Education. "Her expertise and dedication will ensure that every student receives the support they deserve to thrive academically and personally."
