Good Afternoon JICHS Band Family,

Just a quick note today.

I wanted to begin the discussion of upgrading your students' instruments from the beginner model they began on in 6th grade to an intermediate or even a professional model instrument. There are so many positive aspects about upgrading to a higher quality instrument. It can up your child's playing almost immediately:

Improved Tone Quality

Improved Technique

Expanded Ranges

Better Articulations

But also better construction of the higher level instruments leads to fewer repairs over time.

Music and Arts is sponsoring their "Upgrade your Sound" event on Saturday, November 9th at CCSD School of the Arts. See the flyer below for details.

We are lucky enough to have Music and Arts bringing some step up instruments to JICHS THIS Wednesday. They will have an array of woodwind and brass instruments for students to try out while we are in class. So they will get a chance to play on professional model instruments without having to go into the store. It is a great opportunity for them to see firsthand the difference a professional model instrument makes in their playing.

Students will also have the opportunity to try out any instrument they want at the Upgrade Your Sound Event.

They also have amazing financing available when you purchase an instrument during the event.

If you have any questions about upgrading your child's instrument, please reach out and ask. I will be happy to point you in the right direction of what they should be playing. Upgrading to the right instrument, and your child will be set for as long as they want to play, that includes through college and into adulthood!
