Dear Lake Forest School District 67 Families and Staff:
This Tuesday, at our regular meeting of the Lake Forest School District 67 Board of Education, the District 67 Board approved a set of metrics that will be used to measure progress on our five-year Strategic Plan. These metrics are aligned with our goals and objectives and explained in the Appendix to the District 67 2023-2028 Strategic Plan, linked below.
Throughout the past year, District 67 administrators and educators have been implementing significant changes to our curriculum, enhancing academic rigor, and increasing support in our classrooms. The efforts outlined in our new strategic plan, with a focus on actionable and measurable goals, should be viewed within the broader context of our commitment to providing an exceptional and well-rounded educational experience for all District 67 students.
Academic achievement, often quantified by grades and test scores, provides only a partial glimpse into the multifaceted nature of learning. A comprehensive understanding of student progress requires a holistic approach that considers diverse learning styles, individual strengths, and the dynamic nature of the educational journey. Relying solely on numerical metrics neglects the richness of a student's experiences, interests, and personal growth, painting an incomplete picture that may undervalue the unique contributions each student brings to the learning environment.

Our Strategic Plan reflects the shared ideals and goals for our District, and we encourage you to reach out if you would like to learn more about the plan or the associated metrics. As we prepare our youngest learners to thrive in high school and beyond, the partnership between the District and our families is paramount.
