ZONTA CLUB NEWS
Upcoming events are:
January Human Trafficking Awareness Month
March: Zonta Chocolate Festival at Melbourne Auditorium
The MHS-Z Club Fun Pasta Shapes fundraiser will continue to run through the month of January so we can continue to raise funds to help Nana's House build a new playground for its younger residents.
Please see Mrs. Parent in building 1 room, 233 x 24571m or ask any MHS-Z member for details. Pasta orders placed through the club will save shipping costs and should arrive before Valentine's Day, so check out the catalogue for Valentine shaped pasta. Teachers, browse the catalogue in the front teachers' workroom.
And remember, for the month of January, Zonta Club members around the world wear orange to remind us to Say NO! to Violence Against Women.
On January 11, we wore blue for International Human Trafficking Awareness Day.
"This week, MHS-Z Club is posting the National trafficking hotline number in the student bathrooms.
"If you see something, say something."
Likewise, if you need help, please take a post-it and call the hotline for assistance.
Of course, immediate emergencies should always prompt you to call 911.
Human trafficking is a crime and there is help!
If you are in danger, call 911
National Trafficking Hotline: 888-3737-888"
Student Incentive Program
The student incentive program is going great! Teachers and staff give out tickets to students that have done something the exemplifies what being a Mel High Bulldog is all about!
In addition to the items we have for them, such as t-shirts and water bottles, they are loving the gift card choices. We are running low on the initial donation of cards (Thank you!!) and would really appreciate donations to help keep our gift card option available. They seem especially fond of Starbucks and Dunkin' cards.
Donations can be dropped off in the main office. Please label the items: Attention – Mrs. Kilmer
If you have any questions, please contact me at: kilmer.cindy@brevardschools.org
Thank you in advance for any donations you are able to provide!
Covid-19 Information
UPDATED QUARANTINE INFORMATION
Health and Safety
Stay home if you are sick: We ask our families to keep children home if they exhibit any Covid-19 symptoms for the safety of our students and staff. It is the most important thing you can do to help us mitigate the spread of Covid-19 on our campus.
What do I do if someone in my home contracts the Covid-19 virus? Please call the principal at 321-952-5880 x24503 if your student, or someone living in your home, contracts the Covid-19 virus. If you are going to quarantine your student, we will help you determine the correct dates for quarantine.
Clinic Policy: During the pandemic, any student sent home from our school clinic with Covid-19 related symptoms must quarantine for 10 calendar days unless (1) the student receives a negative Covid-19 test and brings the printed result to the school nurse or, (2) the student's family physician diagnoses the student's condition as something other than Covid-19 and writes a note allowing the student to return to school.
