Welcome to the Pine Plains Bombers Bulletin
~ It's Report Card Time ~
It's hard to believe that we have already completed the first marking period for the 2024-25 school year!
First quarter report cards for students in Stissing Mountain Jr/Sr HS will be available upon request to parents/guardians attending parent/teacher conferences on Thursday, November 14th from 3-6pm. Report cards that are not picked up at parent/teacher conferences will be mailed home the following day, Friday, November 15th.
First quarter report cards for both Cold Spring ELC and Seymour Smith ILC will be sent home with students on Friday, November 15th.
~ Stissing Cross-Country Athletes going to State Finals! ~
Good luck to Violet Bliss, Daniel McPherson, Maxwell Decker and Nicolas Montoya!
These dedicated athletes have worked very hard this season. As a result of their hard work and commitment, they are competing in the Cross-Country NYS Championship Finals this Saturday, November 16th at Queensbury High School in Queensbury, NY!
Good luck Bombers!
~ Pine Plains CSD P.E.A.C.E. Committee ~
You are invited to join the Pine Plains Central School District's P.E.A.C.E. Committee. The Anti-Defamation League has developed the P.E.A.C.E. framework as an acronym to use when preparing for and responding to hate and bias-based incidents.
This district-level committee is intended to guide our building-level committees as we work to eliminate incidents of hate in our schools.
Please rsvp to p.audenino@ppcsd.org, if you are interested in attending the first district-wide P.E.A.C.E. Committee meeting on December 4th from 3:45-4:45pm in the Stissing Mtn. Jr/Sr HS library.
~ Cold Spring Students Honor Veterans ~
Our youngest learners at Cold Spring ELC found a very special way to honor the veterans they know this Veterans Day.
Students had the opportunity to make cards for the veterans in their lives that are special to them and thank them for their service. The cards were personalized and colored by students and consisted of heartfelt messages like "Not all heroes wear capes" and "My hero". The cards were then proudly displayed in the Cold Spring ELC lobby for those visiting the school to appreciate!
~ Seymour Smith Enrichment Class Data Fun! ~
Mr Goland’s Enrichment Class was hard at work collecting and analyzing data for a project.
They sorted and measured objects using different utensils in their studies of birds and beaks. Students then used the data they collected to provide the answers to quizzical questions such as, "How many cotton balls vs. dry spaghetti noodles can you pick up with chopsticks vs. tweezers in one minute?"
What an fantastic approach to make learning and analyzing data fun!
~ STG Presents - Noises Off ~
What has eight doors, nine neurotic cast members, and a seemingly endless supply of sardines? Michael Frayn's absolutely hilarious comedy, Noises Off!
The Stissing Theater Guild is proud to open the 2024-2025 season with what the New York Times called, "The most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. A spectacularly funny, peerless backstage farce. This dizzy, well-known romp is a festival of delirium." Come witness a troupe of actors attempt to put on a play while battling time, a two-story rotating set, and each other. The laughs truly never stop. You will not want to miss it.
Tickets for the December 6th, 7th, and 8th performances will be available beginning on October 20th at https://stgboxoffice.seatyourself.biz/.
