Focus Trait For The Month Of September
COMPASSION
When should I keep my child home?
If a child has a fever, they should stay home, no matter the illness.
Your child can return to school when their fever has been gone for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication. Other symptoms should be improving.
What about other symptoms?
If a child doesnโt have a fever, itโs OK to send them to class with symptoms including a runny nose, headache or cough. If those symptoms arenโt improving or are severe, such as a hacking cough, call your childโs doctor.
If you test your child for Covid and they test positive but have no symptoms they are to be in school. If your child tests positive and has a fever keep them home but if siblings don't have symptoms/fever send them to school. The guidelines have relaxed! Please call if you have any questions or concerns.
