Dear SMS families,
June is here! Let's finish strong Skyhawks!
We have a Neon Nights Dance happening on June 7th from 3-5pm. Tickets are on sale now: $7 without ASB and $5 with ASB. If you'd like to help chaperone the dance please click the Volunteering image below to learn more.
We will be having a competition spirit week! The class with the best outfits will win class points towards a party.
Monday- Heroes vs Villains

Wednesday- Country vs Country club
Thursday- Bikers vs surfers
Friday-Neon day!
Our Honors Social will be June 12th at 5pm and will be by invitation only. We will celebrate our students with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher.
Band and Choir will perform their End of Year Concert on June 12th at 7pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend and listen to their latest achievements.
Computer Collection Day for all laptops, cases, and chargers will be June 13th for 8th graders and June 14th for 6th and 7th graders. If you're planning on going out of town then be sure to turn in your laptop, case, and charger beforehand.
The Passing of the Torch event will be June 14th! 8th graders will be walking up to the high school to attend an Assembly in the stadium. After this the senior graduates will be coming down to the middle school to walk through our halls for their annual Grad Walk.
8th Grade Promotion will be Tuesday, June 18th at 5pm. 8th graders and their families are welcome to attend and celebrate our 8th graders moving up to SHS!

Sports
Fall Sports Sign Ups
Sports are wrapped up for the year. If your student is interested in Fall sports for the 2024-2025 school year, we encourage you to get signed up now! Fall sports will be: Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, and Boys Soccer.
Head to: https://sultan-wa.finalforms.com/ to log in or create a parent account. Be sure your signing up for the 2024-2025 year. Select the sport, e-sign the forms, and then your student will need to access their Outlook email to sign their forms. We encourage you to get these forms signed before laptop collection day (June 13th/14th) if you have limited online access at home.
Sports fees are $35 per sport, 4th sport is free.

Help Send TSA Students to Nationals
Seven of our SMS students placed in state and are qualified to go to TSA Nationals in Orlando, Florida!
Please consider giving a donation to help these students to attend and compete at the national level. Donations can go to the SMS office via check or cash to the TSA account.

TSA, or Technology Student Association, is a nationally recognized organization where students in middle school and high school compete in events that prepare them for careers in the future. This program is led and driven by the students. Our students were able to compete at the state level and placed in the following events; fashion design, prepared speech, leadership strategies, problem solving, and biotech.

Cell Phone Policy
Just a quick reminder that all cell phones, smartwatches, headsets, and earbuds are to be turned off and stowed away while on school premises.
Students who violate this policy will be subject to the following disciplinary actions:
- Reminder from staff to put device away.
- Staff will take device away until the end of the class period.
- The device will be sent to the office for pick-up by student at the end of the school day.
- The device will be sent to the office and a parent must it pick up.
- Any further violations are considered insubordination and the parent must pick up the device. In addition, the student receives in-school suspension.
