Fun Factor Friday: January 31st (This is a celebration for students who earned their multiplication license! Please make sure they are studying everyday!)

Here are a few reminders:

Doors will open for scholars to have breakfast at 7:45. Our instructional day begins at 8:05 with our daily morning meeting.

All scholars will be dismissed from outside this year, weather permitting.

Students are expected to be in the appropriate uniform for their grade level. If you are unsure about your scholar's uniform color, please be sure to click the link for the Family Welcome Packet below .

Did you know how important attendance is for the success of your scholar?

• Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school.

• Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read.

• Students can still fall behind if they miss just one or two days every few weeks.

• Being late to school may lead to poor attendance. children catch up.

• Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help

• Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves.

SCHOOL SAFETY

• School Violence and Threats: Parents, schools, and communities can work together to prevent violence and respond appropriately to threats or school incidents. These incidents can be fights, bullying, threats of physical or verbal harm towards staff or students. Parents play a crucial role in informing the school of these acts for talking with your child(ren) about the dangers of getting involved.

• Physical and Emotional Safety: Parents please understand how the school creates a safe environment for students, not just physically but also emotionally and socially. Parents should collaborate with school staff to ensure that students feel supported.

• Emergency Preparedness and Safety Plans: Parents, please familiarize yourself with the school’s emergency preparedness plans (e.g., lockdowns, fire drills, tomato drills, school evacuation plans, or other crises prevention/safety plans) to ensure the safety of your child(ren) and others.

It’s crucial that we have your most current contact information on file, especially in case of emergencies. If you’ve recently changed your address or phone number, please inform the school as soon as possible.

We encourage you to provide an additional emergency contact number as well. Your child’s safety is our top priority, and having updated information ensures we can reach you when needed.

Dear Parents,

This week, school IDs will be issued to all students in grades 5 through 8. It is mandatory for scholars to have their ID visible and on their person when entering each class. Lanyards and clips will also be provided to ensure that students can easily wear and display their IDs throughout the day.

Please note, there will be a $5 charge for the ID. If your child loses their ID, there will be a replacement fee.

Sports will resume practice next week because we have games approaching.

Monday and Wednesday is Jr Varsity basketball practice from 345-530p. Their games are scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday. Times and locations to be announced.

All participants must wear the proper practice clothes and shoes. They must also bring their personal water bottle.
