Hello Cowboys! I hope you are doing well. I sent information regarding the revised grading policy in an email earlier this week. Teachers of high school credit courses will be reaching out to the parents of any student who qualifies for a grade recovery opportunity to earn course credit. All other students will receive the quarter 3 grade for the second semester. Please keep in mind that courses in middle school, even high school credit courses, are not calculated in high school GPA.
We have several weeks of e-learning left, and I assume most students will have the same anticipation of summer break that we experience while we are in school. "Summer fever" is very real in May! It may become harder to keep students motivated to stay engaged. We would experience the same things in classrooms at school, only without most of the distractions students have at home. Continue to encourage your student to be involved with some type of scheduled learning time on a regular basis. You are doing a GREAT job at home!! We still have strong participation from our students, which is a testament to the hard work you are doing to motivate your student and the work teachers are doing to stay connected with students. We are in this together! Please feel free to reach out to teachers if you need help with the assignments.
There is no school on Monday, April 27th so teachers will not post assignments in Canvas that day.
Stay well! Still missing our Cowboys!

Teacher Appreciation Week May 4-8
Each year our community comes together to show support and appreciation for our teaching staff during National Teacher Appreciation Week. Our students and teachers always love this week of celebration. We are unable to be together as a school family this year, but we want to celebrate this special week and thank our teachers for their hard work.
We are starting an “Adopt a Teacher” program for the week of May 4 to show our teachers/staff how much we love them. Our goal is to find a family for every teacher/staff member at CMS. If your family would like to adopt a teacher or staff member, please sign up on this link. volunteersignup.org/D4DPR
Each teacher has provided a “favorites page” linked HERE to help you get started.
If the teacher indicates on the favorites page that home porch deliveries can be accepted, reach out to the teacher via email for an address if needed.
If the teacher indicates that CMS porch delivery is preferred, those drive-through deliveries can be made on the CMS porch on Thursday, May 7th from 10:00 am-11:00 am. Our administrative staff will get the items to the teachers for you.
Teachers can receive e-gifts if you prefer that option. We recommend asking the teacher for a personal email address. MISD emails sometimes block gift card purchases which can be a hassle.
We hope this project is fun for students. Thank you for helping make this a successful Teacher Appreciation Week, even during these difficult times.
8th GRADERS: Spring Online Registration Deadline Extended
MISD has moved the deadline for registration for online acceleration courses to May 1st and the end date is May 15th. Students will need to very committed to putting time into the courses with a potential two-week turn around, but while students are working at home, the shorter timeline is doable if kids jump in and work consistently. Contact your student's counselor if you have questions.
We will collect payment at a later time.
Contact your student's counselor (listed below) and they will get you registered.
