4K Care Program
The program, 4K Care offers childcare for 4-year olds under the direction of a licensed teacher at each site. In addition to the Community Center, SPSD is offering 4K Care at Bridges (AM & PM), Tower Rock (AM only) and Merrimac (Wednesday-Friday). Each 4K Care site must meet the minimum number of students to operate. Minimum enrollment is 13 students per classroom.
In order to participate in 4K Care, students must be 4 years old by September 1 of the year the program begins. Toilet training is expected.
4K Care will not be available on the six (6) Early Release Days during the 2025-26 School year.
4K Care Sites/Programs
Bridges Elementary Morning 4K Care
4K Care schedule: 8:00 - 10:50 a.m.
4K class time: 12:15 - 3:15 p.m.
18 spots available (54 spots total in-town 4K Care; placement will be done by SPSD administration)
- Recess and lunch available to participants before transitioning from 4K Care to 4K classroom (Lunch is available at cost to families through the Sauk Prairie Food Service)
- Transportation provided to participants enrolled in 4K at Sauk Prairie Nursery Center
- Bridges Afterschool Club available at additional cost for care from 3:05 - 5:45 p.m.
Bridges Elementary Afternoon 4K Care
4K Care schedule: 12:15 - 3:05 p.m.
4K class time: 8:00 - 10:50 a.m.
18 spots available (54 spots total in-town 4K Care; placement will be done by SPSD administration)
- Recess and lunch available to participants before transitioning from 4K classroom to 4K Care (Lunch is available at cost to families through the Sauk Prairie Food Service)

Community Center Afternoon 4K Care
4K Care schedule: 10:50 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
4K class time: 8:00 - 10:50 a.m.
18 spots available (54 spots total in-town 4K Care; placement will be done by SPSD administration)
- Transportation for participants transitioning from 4K classroom at Bridges or Sauk Prairie Nursery
- Recess and lunch available to participants before transitioning from 4K classroom to 4K Care (Lunch is available at cost to families through the Sauk Prairie Food Service)
- Bridges Afterschool Club available at additional cost for care from 3:05- 5:45 p.m. (includes transportation back to Bridges)
Tower Rock Elementary
4K Class schedule: To Be Determined (likely AM)

- Recess and lunch available for participants transitioning to or from 4K classroom
- Lunch is available at cost to families through the Sauk Prairie Food Service
Merrimac Community School
4K Care schedule: 8:00 - 3:00 p.m. Wednesday-Friday
4K Class schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday-Tuesday

- Lunch is available at cost to families through the Sauk Prairie Food Service
- MCS Afterschool Club available for additional cost for care from 3:00 - 5:45 p.m.
4K Care Fees & Payments
Registration Fee
$200 due at time of registration (non-refundable). $100 of this fee will be applied towards your September invoice.
Monthly Fee
Nine (9) Equal payments of $525.
Payment due by the 25th of the month for the following month
First payment due August 25; Last payment April 25
Payments
Invoices will be emailed on the 20th of the month for next month (first invoice sent August 20). Payments can be made in RecDesk using a credit card (3% processing fee applies). Payment by cash or check can be dropped off at the Community Center (730 Monroe Street, Sauk City). Please make checks payable to Sauk Prairie Schools and note your child's name in the memo. A secure, after hours dropbox is available outside the front entrance of the Community Center. Please reach out to the Community Center to make other arrangements to drop off your payments.
Wisconsin Shares Child Care Subsidy
The Sauk Prairie School District 4K Care (childcare) program now accepts Wisconsin Shares to help families pay monthly fees for 4K Care. Eligible families will get a portion of their monthly childcare expenses covered through Wisconsin Shares.
4K Care Registration
Registration Opens Monday, February 3 at 5:30 p.m.
Registration is through RecDesk. You must have an account for both you and your child to register. Registration fee of $200 is due at registration.

4K Care Placement & Enrollment Decisions
4K Care Placement for In-Town Participants
4K Care placement for Bridges/SPNC: Registered participants will be placed in either AM or PM 4K care programs regardless of the attendance area (AM or PM) they reside in. As the 4K Care program combined with the 4K classes makes a full day of coverage, the attendance area no longer becomes a criteria in determining placement.
Tower Rock and Merrimac 4K Care Placement
Registered participants in these attendance areas will be placed in the 4K Care site at their school.
**4K Care will only be available if the minimum enrollment requirements are met. Families will be notified by June 2 if the program is cancelled.
