Developing Students to Succeed in the Global Community
Message from Collins
As we approach the season of thankfulness, I want to express my deep appreciation for the incredible community we have here at Loveland High School. We have much to be grateful for, and it starts with you—our supportive families, dedicated staff, and hardworking students.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our recent 8th Grade Open House such a resounding success. The turnout and engagement were truly inspiring, and we couldn’t have done it without the collective efforts of our staff, parents, and students. It's moments like these that highlight the strong connections we share and the pride we all have in our school.
I also want to extend our gratitude to all Veterans for their service and sacrifice. In honor of their contributions, our JROTC program will proudly march in the Veteran's Day Parade on November 11th. We are incredibly thankful for our Veterans and look forward to honoring them in this meaningful way.
This fall has also been filled with many accomplishments worth celebrating. Our student-athletes have shown remarkable dedication and sportsmanship, representing LHS with excellence in all their competitions with representation at the State level across the board. In addition, our performing arts programs have continued to shine. Our Marching Band delivered memorable performances, earning accolades at State once again, and our Theatre department delighted audiences with their production of "Clue", a testament to their talent and hard work.
Thank you again for everything you do to support Loveland High School. It’s an honor to be part of such an exceptional community. Let’s continue to encourage and celebrate our students as we move forward together!
GO LOVELAND!
The Loveland High Diploma Programme (DP) Updates
This first quarter focused on building a strong academic foundation and fostering inquiry and knowledge-building through student-centered methods. An essential part of academic success is goal setting, where students identify areas for growth and track their progress. As they dive deeper into challenging coursework, they learn to adapt their goals, seek support from peers and teachers, and develop resilience—skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
We also introduced the IB Learner Profile Calendar to guide students in reflecting on their personal development each month. In August, we emphasized being Inquirers, encouraging students to nurture their curiosity and ask thoughtful questions. September focused on becoming Knowledgeable by exploring subjects in depth and connecting ideas across disciplines. For October, we highlighted what it means to be a Thinker—approaching complex problems with critical and creative thinking skills. In November, students will explore what it means to be a strong Communicator. Students build a toolkit of attributes that support academic growth and character development through these monthly themes.
Please see more IB updates on the LHS IB web page and the October IB Newsletter.
Student Entry into the Building
Students will be allowed to enter the West Doors (Main Entrance) all day with their valid LHS ID. The East Doors may be used to enter only in the morning (8:15 and 9:15) and when students return from lunch. During passing periods or off blocks, students will need to enter the West Doors.
Please speak with your student about the importance of NOT opening the door to let someone else in so that IDs can be verified and our building remains secure. Students should not be asking other students to let them into the building. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.
Student IDs
Replacement IDs may be purchased at the Campus Monitor booth in the Cafeteria for $5.00.
