❤Community Service Project for Ag Society❤
Let’s support our Cass Ag Society and help raise funds to get something FUN for the fairgrounds!
We are asking club leaders to help the ag society out with a very fun project….granny squares! If each club had all their 4-H members make ONE or TWO granny squares, some members of the ag society and their families will create one large quilt to auction off at the fair!
We have limited crochet hooks available for check-out or you could purchase your own. They should be Size J (Size 10) Aluminum Crochet Hooks - 6" Length - 6mm Diameter. Each square must be 5x5 inches. Please purchase the Lion brand yarn colors white, cherry, and denim. Visit Joann’s and if you tell them you’re a 4-H club, and you will get a 15% discount! The ladies need a total of 132 squares for this quilt (44 of each red white and blue) so please be sure to divide up colors at your meeting.
The squares must be turned in to the office by July 15. The throw blanket (55x60) will be auctioned off at the fair, and the funds will go towards buying a fun addition to the kids zone at the fair…a gaga pit! They’re a big hit with kids!
We heard there are a few people around the community who would be happy to attend a meeting and teach this fun skill, OR visit these links to learn how to do it. If you’d like contacts for folks willing to come teach, let us know!
