Hooray for Bridlemile Attendance!
Cheers and Spotlight on our 1st graders, who have the fewest absences and tardies of all the grades! 99% of our 1st graders are showing up in class and on time each day!!
School attendance is very important. Did you know:
Students who miss 10% of the school year (or 17 days throughout the year) are considered chronically absent
This number includes excused AND unexcused absences
Missing 10% or more of the school year can make it harder to learn to read
Attendance is one of the three school success indicators reflected in our school’s report card issued yearly by the state
When students reduce absences, they can make great academic gains
Outdoors Every Day!
As the weather changes, we’d like to remind students to dress appropriately for the colder days and to bring their jackets to school. Beagles go outside for recess, rain or shine! GrowPortland garden lessons also take place outside. A jacket with a hood is a great idea!
Jackets and clothing that are labeled with your child’s name have the best success rate of finding their way out of the Lost and Found!
Picture Week at Bridlemile
It has been a successful week of pictures! Bridlemile is contracting with a local photographer, Rebecca Hunnicutt Photography, for our student school pictures this year.

We believe you will enjoy the modern portrait option and plan to provide a survey to gather your feedback.

Morning Drop off and Afternoon Pick up Safety
Let’s take a moment to ensure the safety of all our Beagles. With the hustle and bustle of drop-offs and pick-ups, let's make sure our school zone remains safe for everyone.
🚗 Drive Slowly & Stay Alert: Keep our speed in check and our eyes peeled for any students or pedestrians crossing the street. Taking it slow ensures that we have ample time to react and keep everyone safe.
👀 Extra Caution for Walkers: Let’s be extra cautious at crosswalks and intersections. A friendly wave or a smile can go a long way in brightening someone's day and ensuring their safety.
➡️ Turning Right at Car Drop-Off/Pick Up: When exiting the car drop-off/pick up area, make that right turn with care. It helps keep the traffic flow smooth and minimizes any potential congestion. Also, U-turns are not allowed on 47th Drive.
Thank you all for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our school community safe and sound!
The FIT Assessment - Invitation to Participate
Our school will soon participate in a district-wide opportunity for reflection called the Fidelity of Implementation Tool (FIT) Assessment. The FIT is a tool that measures the extent to which a school implements many of the systems and practices that have been identified as critical to equitable and inclusive schools that ensure high levels of learning for all students.
During the FIT, two support staff from the district will spend the day with us, talking to a variety of people in the school community to get an understanding of our practices. Family and community members are invited to participate in a conversation with the district staff in order to respond to predetermined questions that are asked as part of the assessment. If you would like to join us, please call, email khu@pps.net
We will use the data we collect from this process to inform our School Continuous Improvement Plan and other work at the building level. The district will look at district-wide data to highlight areas for further intentional support.
Bridlemile TAG Night is October 3rd, 6-6:45pm, virtual

Bridlemile Foundation
2024/2025 BRIDLEMILE FOUNDATION UPDATE
We are so excited to announce that The Bridlemile Foundation will continue this school year! While we will not be able to use fundraising dollars to help support supplemental staff, we recognize the continued need for fundraising at our school and now have the ability to shift those funds into other important venues like AC units, playground upgrades, school enrichment programs. In the past, the Foundation group has been responsible for events such as the holiday Tree Sale, the Auction and Beagle socials. Our goal this year is to be able to continue to create fun events to bring our community together while raising funds to better our students’ school experience- BY THE COMMUNITY, FOR THE COMMUNITY!
If you are interested in getting involved in school fundraising and enjoy helping to plan fun events to bring the community together— come join us! Please email Kate Evenson at bridlemilefoundation@gmail.com
DONT FORGET TO OPT INTO OUR COMMUNICATION EMAILS ABOUT UPCOMING EVENTS on the membership tool kit!
