Dear Alto Families,
It was another great week at school, and it’s hard to believe we’re already into November. Halloween was a ton of fun for our students! It was great to see so many of you here for the parade. Also, thank you to the parent volunteers who helped with classroom parties and events. The involvement and participation of our parents is a huge part of the success we experience as a school community. THANK YOU!!
The first trimester ends November 15th, so it is important that students continue to work hard to successfully complete this first trimester. November 15th is a Half Day for students (12 PM Dismissal). Report Cards are scheduled to go home on December 6th.
Popcorn Friday
Today is Popcorn Friday! Thank you to the parent volunteers helping today to provide this special treat. This is another example of a special experience we would not be able to provide to our students without your generosity with our fundraising efforts. Your support has allowed us to maintain our popcorn machines and purchase supplies to have Popcorn Friday once a month for all students to enjoy! Thank you!
LEF Grants
We would like to thank the Lowell Education Foundation for their generosity with the following grants. Additionally, thank you to our families and community for supporting the Lowell Education Foundation with their donations.
This year’s LEF grants include:
“Inspiring Older Readers with Decodable Texts” for our Reading Intervention Program
“Book sets for Reading Intervention” for our Reading Intervention Program
“Blast off with Science and Decodable Books!” for our 1st Grade Classrooms
“Building in Elementary Art” for our Art Classroom
“Lifetime Sports - Golf” for our Physical Education Program
“Bjorem Speech Sound Cue Cards for Speech Therapy” for Speech and Language Therapy Services
Thank you for your continued support. Enjoy the weekend!
Sincerely,
Paul Papes, Principal
Magna Mirrors and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 528 teamed up to give back to their Alto community. Both groups came together by purchasing over 80 student dictionaries for Alto Elementary third graders. Their visit and gift was such a delight to third graders. Thank you, Magna Mirrors and American Legion.

It's that time of the year again and you’re just in time for some Holiday cheer! Join the LHS Drama Department as they present "The Great North Pole Bake-off" December 5, 6 & 7.
It’s the reality show of the season where inhabitants at the North Pole compete to create festive and fun holiday bakes! Hosted by cheery and comedic elves Merry Yuletide and Noel Joyeux, this week’s challenge is cookies inspired by Christmas carols. They will be judged by that merry old soul, Santa Claus, and the chill monarch, the Snow Queen. But grumpy workaholic elf Coal wants everyone to get back to work and not waste time with such trivialities as holiday baking. Will the other inhabitants of the North Pole be able to teach Coal the reason for the season?
