Sing praises to the Lord, and give thanks to his holy name. -Psalm 30:4
Morning Devotion
Each day at CCS, students gather for a song of worship, a scripture and time of devotion, and the singing of the doxology.
This week Mr. Yearwood continued our study on the events after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Some of the scriptures used were:
- John 20:11-18
- John 20:19-23
- John 20:24-29
- John 21:5-6
May Hot Lunch Ordering
It's time to order hot lunches for May!
Go to https://cullmanchristian.gradelinklunch.com/ to order.
Make sure you select the dot beside the menu item and then press "add lunch."
After all lunches are added, BEFORE YOU PRESS SUBMIT, please check and make sure that it is showing the day and the price of $6.00 for EACH DAY. If there is a day that does not show the date and the price, then it will not process correctly.
**LOWER SCHOOL Field Day is May 2nd but they are NOT planning any special lunches for the kids this year, so you can still order pizza for that day.
Looking Back on Last Week
Rainy Days
We had several rainy days this week. When it rains, it makes transitioning from class-to-class in the portable classrooms messy. We are praying and trusting God for what's to come for future plans. For now, although inconvenient, we are thankful to have classroom spaces!
Cap and Gown Pictures
Our little Lion graduates had their cap and gown pictures taken recently. We can't wait for parents to celebrate their progress at Kindergarten graduation. This event will be held at the end of May. Details coming soon!
See What's Hatching
1st Grade students have had a great time learning about chick development and have been thrilled to watch the baby chicks hatch from their eggs. This is a great activity that teachers are able to teach so many valuable lessons, including a real-life example of how amazing God's creations and perfect plan are.
4H Representation
Several lower school students recently participated in a 4H competition. Congratulations to Annie Drake for a 1st place finish!
Service Above Self
Congratulations to Andrew Jones, our 2025 Rotary “Service Above Self” Award winner! Andrew was recognized on Thursday at the annual event hosted by the Cullman Rotary Club.
Andrew can often be found volunteering his time helping around the school and in the community. After graduation he will be pursuing a degree in civil engineering.
Spirit Night Report
Wow! What a great night! On March 17th the PTF hosted a Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A. On that night, $500 was raised and used to provide recertification training for our school security guard, Ms. AnnaDeidra. Thank you all who came out to support this event!
A Visit from Founders
Upper school students had the opportunity to hear about how CCS was founded, the ups and downs over the years, and the miracles of God's provisions from Dr. and Mrs. Warner during chapel time. It was amazing to look back at our beginning and see how God has provided over the years.
Interesting Note: One of the things that Dr. and Mrs. Warner talked about was how a tornado destroyed the first building that CCS started in. Today, April 27th, is the anniversary of this event. An interesting fact, and perhaps evidence of God at work, is that Mr. and Mrs. Yearwood were actually some of the volunteers that helped salvage school items from that building. Mrs. Yearwood's sister, Mrs. Perry, was the CCS Headmaster at that time. Only God knew that all these years later they would be a part of the CCS Faculty and Staff.
Testing Reward
3rd grade students enjoyed some time playing board games as a completion of standardized testing reward. All of the students did a great job during exams! Results should be back in late May to early June.
Fire Truck Visit
Kindergarten students had a special visit from some local fire fighters.
Track & Field Updates
The Track & Field athletes competed in our first-ever AHSAA sectionals at Winfield and have several that have qualified to compete at the State Track Meet next week!
