ASTRONOMY NEWS and UPDATE
It is such a pleasure when students go outside of the classroom to
further their interest in a subject. Once again, we have before us some
fabulous photos of the c/2023 Atlas Comet and the Wanning Gibbous
moon taken Friday October 18, between the hours of 7:55-10:00pm.
The comet was only able to be seen from the peripheral viewing of the
eye and was photographed with a cell phone using very high exposure.
The Wanning Gibbous moon was photographed through an Orion
telescope using a cell phone. Notice the large Tycho Crater near the
bottom and the rays that extend from it. Thank you, Owen Bedford of 2A Astronomy for these Fantastic pictures. Keep Looking Up!
Congratulations to Ayana Anderson, Merryck Brackett, Mia Burgess, Kaley Steinberg, and Jessica Williams, on an incredible volleyball season! You've shown such dedication, leadership, and strength both on and off the court, and it's been a joy to watch you grow. We will miss your energy, teamwork, and the unique spark each of you brought to the team. Know that you'll always be loved and remembered, and we wish you the best in all your future endeavors!
