All About Aldersley
Friday 12th April
Introduction by Mr Blower, Headteacher
Dear parents/carers of Aldersley High School,
It is with great pleasure – and a feeling of honour – that I share with you the first in our new series of newsletters designed to bring you closer to the heart of our school. In my first week as the new Headteacher of Aldersley, I get to introduce a showcase of what we do, and it is something we really hope that you enjoy.
Every two weeks, our newsletter will bring you news from around school, the highlights of what has been going on, student achievements, celebrations and things that have made us smile. As well as this, we will use it to regularly share with you ways that you can help your child to maximise their learning, such as their homework calendar and revision resources, as well as key dates upcoming and much, much more.
In my first week in school, I have been witness to lots of excellent teaching and a school community that wants the very best for your child. I held assemblies with all year groups on Monday and they were respectful and excellently-behaved, which has set the bar high for how they can conduct themselves and the high standards of which they are capable.
This newsletter focuses on lots of exciting things that happened in the Spring Term, and next time we will send you our first update from the Summer Term. We really hope you enjoy our newsletter – it’s All About Aldersley!
Best wishes,
Mr Blower

To celebrate their accomplishments, each student was treated to a sweet treat! Additionally, our highest points earner, ASL Award, and HOY Award recipients were rewarded with Amazon Vouchers. We hope they enjoyed their rewards!
We are incredibly proud of all our students' hard work, dedication, and commitment to both their studies and our school's core values. Thank you for your continued support in encouraging and motivating our students to strive for excellence.
Madrid Trip
Our students had a wonderful and enriching experience during their recent trip to Madrid, organised by our Modern Foreign Languages Department.
During the trip, students had the opportunity to visit the iconic Bernabeu home of Real Madrid and immersed themselves in the vibrant local culture. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to enhance their language skills and broaden their horizons through firsthand experiences.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the Modern Foreign Languages Department for organizing such a memorable and educational trip for our students.

Year 10 Work Experience
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your support in securing Work Experience opportunities for your child. We hope that the students thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from this valuable experience.
For those students who remained in school, they participated in our Futures Week, which included insightful presentations from external providers and engaging career-based lessons. These activities were designed to inspire and inform our students about the various career paths available to them.
Your continued support and involvement play a vital role in helping our students explore their interests, develop essential skills, and prepare for their future careers.
Amethyst 6th UK University & Apprenticeship Event
How many providers under one roof? A great UK Apprenticeship and University event for our year 12 students. You can never have too many bags right?
International Women's Day
On March 8th, 2024, Aldersley High School proudly celebrated National Women's Day. Throughout the day, our students engaged in lessons highlighting the achievements and contributions of inspirational women from around the world. This provided a valuable opportunity for our students to learn about the significant impact women have had on history, culture, and society.
In addition to recognising women on a global scale, we also took the time to express our gratitude and appreciation for the inspirational women within our school community. Whether they are teachers, staff members, or students, these remarkable individuals serve as role models and empower our students to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives.
We believe that celebrating National Women's Day is not only a way to honour the accomplishments of women but also to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and changemakers.
Aldersley Girls at Twickenham
Miss Forbes and Miss Williams took some of our Year 7 students to Twickenham Stadium! Phenomenal experience for the girls!
National Careers Week
We celebrated National Careers Week from March 6th to March 11th. Throughout the week, our students had the opportunity to explore various career paths and learn about different professions in each subject area.
Our dedicated staff played an integral role in this initiative by sharing their own career journeys and experiences with the students. This provided valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities available and helped to inspire our students to consider their future aspirations and goals.
Afternoon Tea Year 6 Families
Afternoon tea for our Year 6 families was a success! Lovely to meet our new year 7 cohort with their parents/carers. Thanks to our senior team, the SEND team & student leaders who supported the event. We look forward to seeing you in Transition Week!
