Wilson Selected to Play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas
Senior linebacker Torrance Wilson has been named to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
Wilson is a four-year starter for the Panthers football program and is also a three-time Region Champion and state qualifier wrestler. He is the son of Torrance and Desiree Wilson.
The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas recognizes the very best in High School football players in the Carolinas. Every year there is a highly visible game between North Carolina’s players and those from South Carolina hosted by and promoted by The Shriners.
The Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas will be played December 21 at Spartanburg High School with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
MSE Step Team Invited to Perform at SCSBA Convention
Main Street Elementary School’s Step Team has been invited to perform February 22 at the South Carolina School Board Associations 2025 Annual Convention in Myrtle Beach.
The SCSBA Annual Convention is the organization’s premier professional development event of the year. The event offers a collection of educational presentations and experiences for hundreds of school board members and other education leaders from across the state.
LCHS Gentlemen's Club Visits Students at DREM
The Lake City High School Gentlemen’s Club visited Dr. Ron E McNair Junior High School on October 8.
The group visited several classes and talked with the younger students about a variety of topics, including making smart decisions, cyberbullying setting goals, overcoming adversity, doing your best in school and the dangers of vaping.
The Gentlemen’s Club is partnering with Empower Vape-Free Youth Group, #DoTheVapeTalk, Campaign to Combat Teen Vaping, Truth Initiative, and American Lung Association on a campaign to encourage students to stop vaping.
